1 Paint Strippers Sold at The Home Depot Containing Methylene Chloride or N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP) Methodology. To find examples of paint stripping (or removing) products sold by The Home Depot containing methylene chloride or NMP, Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families staff searched on The Home Depot’s website for the terms “paint” and “stripper” to arrive at a listing of relevant products. We then reviewed the Safety Data Sheets (standard forms prepared by the manufacturer as required by OSHA) for each paint stripper product to determine which ones contained these chemicals. Customer reviews were available on the website for all items listed below, indicating that The Home Depot customers use these products.
