Say, If mankind and the Jinn gathered to-gether to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even though they should help one anoth-er. (17:89)

    Hadith

Aaishah (r.a.) may Allah be pleased with her, relates that the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Verily the one who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with dif-ficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that re-ward. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Sayings of the Promised Messiah (as)

You should remember that the Holy Quran is the fountain-head of all real bliss and true means of salvation. Of course those who do not follow the teachings of the Holy Quran are themselves to be blamed. One section constitute the people who do not have faith in this Book and do not believe that this is the word of God. These people are indeed far drawn away from it. But as for those who believe it to be the word of God and the means of salvation, if they do not act upon it, it would be certainly a matter of great grief. (Malfoozat vol. 7, pg. 181)

  • Hudhur said love of Quran will be instilled in the hearts of children when parents will inculcate its recita-tion and pondering over its meanings in them, when the Quran will be recited in the morning in every home. .Those who go out to work can recite the Quran before Salat. This will fill a home with blessings and will have a very virtuous influence on children. Each one us can observe that regular recitation of the Quran while reflecting on it will generate love for the sake of God between husband and wife and this in turn will make their children useful members of the Community. Hudhur said Ahmadis should make their full efforts in this regard. The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) made great efforts to promote this. It was indeed the purpose of his advent to give the Quran the highest status. Honour of Quran should not be limited to, as it is by non-Ahmadis, being wrapped in beautiful cloth, placed on a beautiful shelf or in a box. Real love of the Quran is to make ones full effort to obey its commandments, to avoid what the Quran for-bids and to employ ones full capacity and capability to fulfil what it commands. Its recitation should be done with fear of God. Hudhur said if a believer truly loves the Quran, he tries to attain such a standard himself and would also try and take his children to it. There is no distinction in avoiding evil and such should not be our aim. We should keep our targets high. Effort to adopt every virtue mentioned in the Quran would create a pure socie-ty which Islam wants to establish and would also silence those who raise objections at Islam day in and day out. We should try and understand the teachings of the Quran and Islam. This would make our homes par-adisiacal and will enable us to fulfil our dues of Tabligh in society.

    Department: Sehat - eJismani

The annual sports day for Lajna NSW was held on the 20th of August 2016. The day was commenced with a march past at 10.20am with participation of all the 3 regions of NSW. After the march pass recitation of the Holy Quran was by sister Atifa Tariq followed by dua, which was led by our National Sadr Sahiba.

The following games that Lajna participated on that day:

50m race (under and over 25s)

50m relay (under and over 25s)

3-legged race (under and over 25s)

English and Urdu message relay (had mixed teams of under and over 25s)

Tug of War (had a mixed team of under and over 25s)

Variety Relay Race (this time the race was to dress a bride with a time limit.)

All the above games were held in the morning before lunch. At around 1pm Lajna prayed Namaz followed by lunch and after lunch we had Cricket (was played as 5 overs because of the time shortage), the first around was played between Bai tul Huda and Al Noor, from which Al Noor won and then played the finals with Al Sadaqat. The match between Al Noor and Al Sadaqat was quite interesting where Al Noor took the winners title. While on the other side Volley Ball matches were on as well the First round was played be-tween Baitul Huda and Al Sadaqat, where Baitul Huda turned out to be the winners. The finals for the vol-ley ball was not been played because of the time shortage.

By the time the games concluded, it was 4.45pm and lots of sisters had to head home. So, we did a small presentation. Announced the winners and distributed the prizes. This time we wanted to do something dif-ferent with the prizes. So, we had fruit hampers. But we believe by the reactions and feedbacks that was not what everyone expected. So Insha Allah from next year well stick with the chocolates.

The same day the Nasirats also had their annual sports day as well. They competed in their age groups as regions. MashaAllah the girls had fun and enjoyed themselves.

We hope and pray to Allah to give us more strength to organize the day more bigger and better next year, InshaAllah.

    Report : National Ijtema

    Department: Taleem

The National Ijtema consisted of various Talimi competitions with Lajna members participating enthusiastically in the competitions. La-jna members could derive spiritual knowledge from the Ijtema, taking this knowledge with them to incor-porate in their daily activities.

    SPORTS

Sport competitions were held on all the three days. The final competitions between all interstate Majalis formed a part of the sport competitions. Competitions of sports included Badminton, variety relay and tug of war.

  • FIRST SESSION.

The first session of the day was presided by National President, Anjum Khan Sahiba. The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by its translation in English and Urdu. Respected Sadr Sa-hiba of Lajna Imaillah Australia then led all Lajna members in reciting the Lajna pledge. The Nasirat pledge was then recited, led by the National Secretary Nasirat. This was then followed by Nazm and an address by President Lajna Imaillah Australia. The topic of Righteousness was highlighted in the address. The high-lights of Huzur e Anwar Friday Sermons on the topic of Namaz were presented after this for all Lajna and Nasirat members to benefit from it.

    SECOND SESSION

    NATIONAL MAJLIS E SHURA

National Majlis-e-Shura of Lajna Imaillah Australia was also held on the 23rd September 2016, the first day of Ijtema. The pro-posed topics approved by Huzur e Anwar for this years Majlis-e-Shura included:

Proposal 1: Precedence of faith over all worldly objects:

Faith must take precedence in all matters. Lajna Imaillah members need to be urged to keep the following in mind always:

Offering the 5 daily prayers is more important than all other worldly tasks

One must always be ready to offer financial sacrifices in the way of God wherever needed

Righteousness should be the first and the foremost quality one looks for when searching for a life part-ner

Proposal 2: Education and training of youth:

Attention must be paid to the Taleem and Tarbiyyat of the Ahmadi youth, to encourage them to become ac-tive and obedient members of the Jamaat. This can be achieved by organizing regular youth seminars, exten-sive Tarbiyyati refresher courses and involving the youth in Jamaat offices. Special attention should be paid to the practice of Purdah in the modern society.

Proposal 3: Parenting in the Western society:

Given the frequent and common use of technology in the youth, it is imperative that mothers are made aware about its use as well as its pros and cons. Mothers must be educated and trained such that they can use computers, smartphones, social media etc. to be able to understand and guide their children in this regard. They must also be informed of the perils of modern technology including cyber bullying.

    Proposal 4: Finance

The budget for the year 2016-2017 will be presented. It has been proposed that the Chanda Lajna Member-ship and Chanda Ijtema must be increased, considering the increase in the expenses in the last few years. Chanda membership, which has been $2 a month for a very long time should now be increased to $4 a month, while the Chanda Ijtema should be increased from $16 to $17.

All suggestions presented were unanimously agreed upon by all members of Majlis e Shura

Following this, the final activity, the Observation game was then held, with all groups participating.

  • The Nasirat then assisted in cleaning up the area used for the days activities, then proceeded to the shade area for prize distribution. Many Nasirat received prizes for the various positions they had ob-tained throughout the days activities, and these Nasirat will Inshal-lah be going on to participate in Sports held during National Ijte-ma 2016. This marked the end of another successful Sydney Sports Day 2016, a feat that would not have been possible without the enthusiastic participation of all Nasirat involved, and the team of volunteers that helped during the course of the day.

  • Report: ACTs Masroor Academy Excursion

    Department: Masroor Academy

Sunday 25th September was a day full of joy for

the younger students of the ACT Masroor Acad-

emy. Nasirat and children up to 10 years of age

had the opportunity to visit KidCity which is an

indoor play centre in Mitchell. Lajna staff of the

Academy accompanied the children on the ex-

cursion. Six children aged 2-10 years and four

mothers/teachers met up at the venue at

10.30AM. We bought tickets for the group and

zealously entered the play area. Huge slides,

    climbing equipment, bouncing enclosures and

arcade machines were a welcome sight for the

children. The fun started immediately and continued non-stop until about 12PM when the staff told the chil-

dren that we would soon leave to have lunch. This message sent the already active children into a super-active

mode as they wanted to leave nothing untried. Mothers were eventually able to settle everyone for a group

photo. We decided on Hungry Jack's for lunch and drove to the nearest outlet.

The group took some time to decide on the menu and place an order. Now, the children realised that they

were actually hungry (yeah, mum was right after all in taking me out of KidCity). After having spent so much ener-gy everyone appreciated their burgers, fries, drinks and ice cream. Happy faces and satisfied tummies said Al-

lah Hafiz to each other about an hour later.

The Academy staff and mothers also enjoyed the great spring weather and friendly chat. We thank the Presi-dent of ACT Jama'at and Deputy Principal Sahiba of Masroor Academy for organising this excursion. The children are already looking forward to the next excursion of the Academy.
