Islam Beliefs

There are approximately 1,500,000,000 followers today.

Their deity is Allah. He is considered the one and true God with no partner or equal.

One common misconception is that Allah is a different God from that of the Judeo-Christian tradition. He has a different name, but he is the same God.

One of the unifying characteristics of Islam is the Five Pillars: testimony of faith, prayer, giving, fasting, and the hajj (a pilgrimage to Mecca).

5. Belief in the last day of judgment and the hereafter: Everyone will be resurrected for judgment into either paradise or hell.

6. Belief in predestination: Muslims believe Allah has decreed everything that will happen. Muslims testify to Allah’s sovereignty with their frequent phrase, inshallah, meaning, “if God wills.”
