My Photography In The Sun

In 390BC Reiners Gemma Frisius used a camera obscura to watch a solar-eclipse. He later posted a diagram later on in the year.

From watching the diagram you can tell this was the layout of how the camera would later be like in the thousand of years to come.

New Theories.

Alhazen a middle eastern individual came up with the idea of Photography. Thought he never created an object that was a camera. He did however come up with a theory.

This theory he said was explaining why images where upside down.

Worlds First Photograph. In 1826 the first photograph was made by French scientist Nicephore Niepce. It is an image of a courtyard and outbuildings which require an eight hour session.

This image would be the catalyst for photographs take for many years to come.

New inventions.

In 1835, William Henry Fox Talbot invented the collotype process. This was an effect that made the image have a negative look.

This was able to make pictures more effective by the way the optical and chemical aspect of photography and he was able to make the images that where taken by the time more complex.

Civil WarFrom 1861 to 1865 throughout the American Civil-War. Pictures where taken during the 4 year war. This was the first time anything like this was ever done and would be seen in wars later on in the years.

These images for the time where pretty gruesome displaying the reality of war was really like.

Daguerre’s Discovery.

A French photographer by the name of Louis Daguerre discovered the invention of daguerreotype process of photography.

This effect was an early photographic technique with the images made on a light-sensitive silver-coated metallic plate.

Photography (word) was created.

Sir John Herschel a famous photographer at the time created the word that is so relatable to Photography today. The word “Photography”

This word was created from the Greek words phos meaning light and graphe meaning drawing.

Colour Came Into The Mix.

In 1855, Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell produced the first ever colour picture of a tartan ribbon.

Being that this is the first coloured photograph however photographs wouldn't be coloured until years later.

Moving Horse.

In 1878 It took 6 years for English photographer Eadweard Muybridge to create the first moving picture. A horse galloping became the first motion picture. This would be the catalyst for motion pictures in the future.

Kodak In 1888 the Kodak n1 was introduced. Changing the landscape of Photography at the time.

This camera was the first camera that the mass-market could buy and the photographs that where taken with it in the 19th century was revolutionary.

First Mass Camera.In 1900, Kodak released the first mass market camera the “Brownie” With its strange looking boxed shape look that was very different from cameras before and after its time.

Introduction to colour film. In 1904, brothers Augusta and Louis Lumiere introduced “Autochrome” the first colour screen film material.

Thought they where created in 1903, they would be marketed in 1907.

Leica established

In 1913 Leica introduced the 35mm photography. The first commercial camera they made hit the market in 1924.

Nikon was discovered

In 1917, Nikon was created in Tokyo Japan. Originally named Nippon Kogaku K.K, Nikon would last for over 10 decades.

Man Ray

In 1921, Man Ray began making photograms. This was done by placing objects on photographic paper.

Publishing

In 1928, Albert Renger-Patzsch published a photography book titled “The World Is Beautiful” which showed images of man-made and natural objects.

Canon

In 1984, Canon who where still in the market around this time created the first digital still camera.

Beginning of Photoshop

Even thought it was created in 1990, Adobe Photoshop was officially created in 1993 for the MS-Windows computers. This changed photography from editing different layers in the photograph thanks to this new software.

New eraIn the 21st century new cameras where introduced. These included the Sony cyber-shot DSC-F707 and the Olympus E-10
