In 1911 IBM where the producer for punch card tabulating machines.

1930 produced the calculator.

In 1950s IBM 701 EDPM.

- had electrostatic storage tube memory.

Then IBM CEO which will go with IBM punch card tabulating machines.

In 1970 they produced the portable computers which are very close to the personal or desktop computers.

Brief History

Page 7: The History of IBM PC

IBM attempted to move computing to individual users using the SCAMP project.

SCAMP is a desktop calculator, an interactive APL programming device.

In 1975 the IBM 5100 Portable Computer launched.

Model 2 allowed only diskette.

The system was withdrawn from marketing between March 1983 and July 1984.

IBM 5520 included files processing enhanced softwares and other arithmetic functions.

Desktop Computer

The Data master was operated and checked out by users.

View screen. Uses input and output devices such as

keyboard, mouse and printer, which all attached to a desktop console.

Tow printers were also offered to the new pc type.

Maximum diskette storage of the new pc type was up to 4.4 megabytes.

All in all, PC was not the first thing that IBM produced, they did many things which made them think about this technology.

Many languages they discovered, some of which programmers still using them until now, but in more understandable techniques.

Summary
