TreesMore than 50 di�erent species comprise the approximately 341 trees within the Reserve. Species include the Frontier Elm and American Chestnut, along with the endangered Giant Sequoia and White Ash. Grant House Herb GardenSix di�erent culinary herbs and several cultivars are used by the restaurant’s chef. Dedicated volunteers from the Hardy Plant Society-Clark County maintain the garden. Howard House Rose Garden About 100 heirloom roses planted by the Fort Vancouver Rose Society include Old Garden Roses (classes dating to earlier than 1867) like Gallica blooming May-June. Other vintage varieties include Rugosas which flower June into fall.
