Founded in Dreieich in 1996, Imtradex Hör- /Sprech-systeme GmbH is located near Frankfurt am Main and has become one of the leading manufacturers of headsets in Europe today.

With about forty-five employees from the fields of design, marketing, development and production, Imtradex places priority on real German quality – Made in Germany. The development teams strive constantly for improvement – starting with the world-wide search for new materials for use the production of our headsets, on to the continuous improvement of our testing programmes.

Police officers on duty use different headgear depend-ing on the level of risk associated with a given situation. In order to communicate well with colleagues, they need units that are comfortable and safe to ensure maximum flexibility and provide the best voice trans-mission quality. Imtradex developed the neckband headset NB 2000 specifically for these operations.

Inconspicuous communication among colleagues can decide the success or failure of an operation for police, security firms and detective agencies. The device that ensures such should therefore be a standard product for public and private security forces.

Imtradex has developed a wide range of products for these discrete communications and targeted the needs of the security industry and authorities, with the new OnGuard Clear+. Thanks to the simplest of cable arrangements, the OnGuard series offers a reliable solution for covert or semi-concealed operations, and supports connection with a wide range of microphone, PTT and earphones. OnGuard BlueTalk is a solution for wireless commu-nication between and the headset or other audio appli-cation and mobile phone carried by a bodyguard. A wireless transmitter button enables fully covert com-munication.

With the neckband headset NB 2000, police officers remain flexible. The Open-Ear-Gain technology that is used in this headset enables hearing of unparalleled quality; in many headsets the speaker is housed in a casing surrounding the ear – the NB 2000, however, features silicon tubing that channels sound from the speaker directly to the ear, thus taking advantage of the natural amplification of the ear canal.

Dispatch Places & 911Whether in operational processes, in traffic or else-where, an accident can occur at any moment. All the more important then, is the capability to respond quickly when an emergency does arise, in addition to prevention through training and precautionary mea-sures. Emergency dispatch centres play a key role in these situations, as do the operational control centres at large production facilities.

These centres coordinate all sorts of deployments, including emergency rescue operations. It is therefore essential that they have reliable communications tech-nologies to support them in this work. Here at Imtradex, one of our main tasks is to continually improve those technologies and by doing so create new options for emergency dispatch and operations control centres.

Imtradex has a specially designed range of hand-held microphones, table microphones etc. for use in control rooms – and now they have been equipped with USB-connectors – including the BusinessLine and AirTalk series. With this established standard the hear-ing and speech system can be connected to the com-puter systems of dispatch centres – regardless of the respectively operating system used like Windows or Linux – be connected to the computer systems of control or dispatch centres in no time.

The lightweight Apollo headsets are available in a head- and neckband version. For maximum safety and wearing-comfort, the NB series is available in two neckband sizes. The soft silicon tubing of the Open-Ear-Gain technology ensures clear voice communication in noisy environments. The rugged stereo neckband headset can be connected to both analogue and digital radios as well as to different telephone systems.

With the helmet headset FireTalk, which now is certified to EN443:2008-02, Imtradex offers a special communi-cation solution for fire brigades, which ensures reliability even in extreme heat and the smooth communication between the firefighters. FireTalk consists of a water-proof electret gooseneck microphone and a splash-and shock-resistant transmitter button. The unique features of FireTalk are its completely cylindrical form and its robust construction, which is achieved by building the microphone and the receiver into one single unit.

Aviation & SpaceReliable and clear communication between pilots and air traffic controllers, as well as between pilots and ramp agents, is crucial for the smooth flow of opera-tions in aircraft and ground handling. Misunderstand-ings can lead to severe consequences, especially in the high volume of air and runway traffic conditions of European airspace. This is why communication equip-ment is key safety factor. Imtradex has developed headsets customized for hard and intensive use in and around airports, for air traffic controllers, ramp agents and pilots.

Excelling with respect to their, comfort and stability, communication solutions provided by Imtradex meet the heavy demands of day-to-day use in the air and on the ground almost all over the world.

Since airport personnel working outdoors are exposed to deafening noise, noise-reduction and wearing-com-fort, all this were taken into account when constructing the AircraftControl headset. The headset was in deve-lop-ment for months and underwent a variety of tests, including extreme weather conditions, and is designed for optimum sound insulation.

AirTalk 3000 is available as a binaural (XD) and mo-naural (XS) headset. Combined with a noise-compen-sation microphone and Acoustic-Shock-Protection, the AirTalk 3000 headsets ensure perfect communication while keeping equipment weights low. The AirTalk 3000 XD can also be delivered with a splitting option (phone on one side and radio receiver on the other side).

This sound protection headset offers a high degree of wearing comfort and features a coiled yellow PUR cord for connection with the aircraft interphone system. It has a high quality, noise-cancelling NC-Electret goose-neck microphone with wind protection that allows high quality communication. The speakers with Mylar mem-branes and metal covers provide noise reduction of up to 27dB while also ensuring for a clear audio reception.

Pick by VoiceA productive goods and warehouse logicstics system requires efficient processes. In the area of order pick-ing, in particular, there is great potential for improve-ment. Companies can generate a real competitive advantage by increasing productivity of their logistics through the use of the innovative Pick by Voice techno-logy and matching system components from Imtradex.

Pick by Voice replaces the previous paper-based pro-cedures, via a completely paper-free voice-controlled order picking system. This technology, and the systems based on it, functions as an ergonomic interface per-fecting the collaboration between man and computer.

While the system is controlled through the electronic warehouse and job management system (LVM, WM, or ERP), the employee carries out the instructions trans-mitted in the form of audio messages through WLAN. Via a headset, employees receive instructions transmit-ted from the computer’s voice output system and then confirm job execution using simple words.

With VibraTalk, the skull (bone conduction) microphone picks up speech in the form of structure-borne vibrations, which are amplified so that there is no detectable qua-litative difference from a normal microphone. VibraTalk can be attached to any helmet. Thus the set is a perfect communication solution for less favourable conditions, particularly in combination with respirators.

All headsets from the BusinessLine series can be used for traditional or VoIP-telephony and are all wide-band capable. Thanks to the QD (Quick Disconnect) plug-system it is easy to connect different cables to the headset. By default, the BusinessLine series is delivered with NC-microphone (Noise Cancelling) and Acoustic-Shock-Protection (ASP).

The BusinessLine headsets can be individually fin-ished in the customer‘s choice of colour. The individual components are either completely or partly painted with a special colour – even company logos can be printed.
