Dear Hampton Golf Community,
I want to extend our heartfelt thanks and appre-
ciation to each and every one of you for the won-
derful cash donations, toys and children’s clothing
given to Shriners Hospitals for Children— Bos-
ton. Your generosity and kindness towards our
children made the holiday season so much happier
and comfortable for our kids and families. Many of
you came to us through your relationship with TJ
McGowan and his wonderful family. We are so
honored and privileged to be involved with the
McGowans, the Davises and everyone in your
community. Thank you for continuing TJ’s legacy
through your generosity, you are all great friends
and we consider you part of the Shriner’s fami-
ly. Thank you again for organizing such a fantastic
fundraiser! Carolyn Wahto, Development Officer 1
Shriners Hospitals for Children — Boston.

COMEDY NIGHT
AT THE HAMPTONS
It's said that laughter is the best medicine and
helps keep us younger, so with that being
said, on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 7 PM,
Helping Hands is hosting a clean adult
comedy night with two (2) comedians, Mike
Parenti and Rene Bray. Tickets for this event
are $10 per person (no limit on amount
purchased) and will be on sale in the office
on Monday, February 4, 2019. This is an
assigned seat event. As always, all pro-
ceeds go toward helping the children of
Auburndale. For information, contact
Conrad Gallant … 508-742-7619.
The Hampton Education Foundation is now as-
sembling teams of volunteers to work a conces-
sion stand at each of the Detroit Tigers’ Spring
Training home games at Publix-Joker Marchant
Stadium in Lakeland. We earn money for the
foundation’s scholarship fund in one of two
ways:
1. We receive 10% of the total gross sales for
the day – or we receive $50 per person work-
ing that day.
2. We also receive generous tips from the public
for our service.
The game dates are: Feb. 22, 24, 27, March
1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16, 17, 18, 21, 23, 24
(all day games)
If you would like to help out at one or more of
the games or would like more information, con-
tact Kevin Dunn at 863-604-9323. This would
be a great way for new residents to get to know
their neighbors and to be of service at the same
time.
To the Hampton Community Thank you from the bottom of our Hearts for
your continued generosity for the Children at
the Shriners Hospital for Children (Boston,
MA). This year’s contributions resulted in a
fabulous Christmas for those children who are
going through a very tough time. Your un-
waving support is so much appreciated from
the entire McGowan and Davis families. TJ
would be so impressed and grateful to each and
every one of you who contributed.
Sincerely, Jan McGowan, Kim and Jim Davis
and the entire family.

H.E.F. February Golf Cart
Poker Run
The popular Golf Cart Poker Run in Febru-ary will take place on Thursday, February 21st and will be sponsored by Mattress Warehouse & Flooring and Red Hoa-gland Hyundai. Tickets are on sale in the Office at $5.00 each and include a free meal of Chili with cornbread and dessert. Continue the New Year with a fun late after-noon at the fun Golf Cart Poker Run. In an effort to better serve our Poker Run guests in comfort, all ticket sales will stop before Noon on the Tuesday prior to the Poker Run. You do not need a golf cart to play. The
Hampton Grille offers beverages for sale,
and there’s always a 50/50 raffle. Annual
Poker Run tickets are available at a dis-
counted price, and will enter you in eight
consecutive poker runs for prizes, even
when you aren’t able to attend. All proceeds
benefit the 2019 H.E.F. Scholarship Pro-
gram for high achieving high school gradu-
ates in need of aid.
H.E.F. Sponsored Presentation The Auburndale City Mayor, Tim Pospichal,
approached the Hamptons Educational Founda-
tion about providing a safety message to the res-
idents of the Hamptons Golf & Country Club.
We are happy to announce that a team of two
people, an Auburndale City fire fighter along
with a hospice worker, will be giving their third
presentation on preventing falls. This will take
place on February 21st, immediately following
the H.E.F. Golf Cart Poker Run in the ballroom.
It will last for 30 to 45 minutes. There is no
charge to attend this presentation following the
Poker Run and everyone is welcome.
Thank You To All Of Our Hampton
Friends
Our deepest thanks goes out to all of you
for reaching our “Pairs of Socks Goal” this
year. The goal was 1000 pairs. You not only
helped us achieve that goal; you exceeded
it. You contributed a total of 1120 pairs of
socks. Thanks to each and every one of you
for “sockerosity”. It truly means a lot to
me, my family and more importantly to the
5 charities that received the socks because
of your generosity. As most of you know,
my wife Donna passed in 2018. Before her
passing she had set a goal of 1000 socks
this year. Because of your amazing gener-
osity, you made sure this goal became a re-
ality. I know she has a huge, grateful smile
on her face. Thank you, again, for your
heartfelt generosity. Our new goal this year
is 2000 pairs of socks. We will start our
2019 Sock Campaign Mid October.
Thank you again for your continued
support. Sincerely, Tom Liniski and family.

POLK SENIOR GAMES
Time is fast approaching for the 27th Annual
Polk Senior Games. Many Hampton residents
have participated in this event and have won
medals in the Polk Senior Games in the past, but
there is still room for more. The games are open
to everyone 50 and older. You don’t have to be a
Polk County resident, a Florida resident, or even
a USA resident. You just have to be here for the
events you are signed up for.
The games are scheduled to run from February
23rd through March 11th, however registration
entries MUST BE RECEIVED at the Polk Senior
Games office in Bartow NO LATER THAN
5:00 PM on FEBRUARY 8TH.
There are over 100 events this year including
several track and field, swimming, dancing, and
sporting events such as basketball, golf, shuffle-
board, bocce ball, bowling, tennis, pickleball, etc.
There are also many less strenuous events like
bag toss, darts, billiards, shooting, fishing, shuf-
fleboard, etc.
There are also many mind provoking events like
senior smarts, cribbage, euchre, bridge, scrabble,
sudoku, checkers and chess, etc.
All events are split up by five or ten year age
groups, so you are only competing against people
that are close to your own age. The sporting type
events are also split between men and women.
Those who participated last year should have
received their registration and rule book in the
mail. For those new to the senior games, regis-
tration forms and rule books are available from
Bob Parshall, 267 Dupont Court, 863-224-7608
or by calling the Polk Senior Games office at 863
-533-0055 or Emailing them at polksenior-
I want to thank our friends and neighbors for
their support after the sudden passing of my wife
Laura on December 24th. Your kind words and
prayers helped me so much. Thank you for your
cards and sharing your food. I will sure miss her.

Notice As we all try to keep our community looking
beautiful, it is a duty of the management staff to
ensure that all residents abide by the rules set
forth prior to purchasing our homes. Therefore,
the office staff will be conducting ’Four Sided
Reviews’ of all Homes in the Community.
Please note that this will mean that you may see
representatives of the office walking around and
inspecting the exterior of residents’ houses. The
office apologizes for any inconvenience this may
cause, but unfortunately, this is the only way to
conduct this review.

Hampton Quilters We welcomed several new members
and said “see you again” to two members who
relocated to be with family. Heart shaped oven
mitts, a “stained glass” wall hanging, how to
bind your quilt and making quilt labels were
the focus of our January meetings. We also
went to Clermont to explore the fabrics in two
quilt shops. Our outings are referred to as:
“Fun, Fabric and Food…what could be bet-
ter?” This year’s quilt challenge, Seasons, will
be revealed at our annual quilt show on March
12. The Hampton Quilters meet Tuesday morn-
ings from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30pm in the clubhouse
mid October through March. Everyone is wel-
come. You don’t have to be an experienced
quilter or even a quilter to join us. We will be
happy to share our knowledge and love of
quilting with you.

NOTES FROM THE CHORALIERS
It’s almost Spring show time and the 50th Re-
union of the Hampton Choraliers is fast ap-
proaching. From near and far the singing class-
mates from so long ago will gather for this half
century occasion hosted by Miriam Fassbinder-
Jones and her husband, the long-suffering Ger-
ald. Sandra Wilson, the chorus secretary has
sent invitations to all Choralier members. Yes!
Everyone is coming! Who can say no to an
event organized by Miriam whose family owns
the bank and maintains an iron grip on the
economy of the little town of Miriamdale. But
is there a revolution brewing in this small cen-
tral Florida town? Will the power of the Fass-
binder Bank finally be broken? Will Miriam
Fassbinder-Jones get her just desserts? Ru-
mors are flying that this Choralier 50th reunion
will be a revelation for all!! Will Gerald final-
ly reunite with the true love of his life, school
librarian Madge? Classmates Bobby Hightow-
er, convicted felon and Brandy Martinetti, dis-
graced party girl, will they dare show their fac-
es? Our football hero and cheerleader so
revered fifty years ago have fallen on hard
times. Can Rodney and Debbie regain one
night of glory? Sam Smoot and Eustice
Grimsley, hardscrabble hometown boys who
have made good, have secrets to be revealed.
Oh my, the very old Miss Pieper the chorus
director from fifty years ago and Mr. Jeremiah
“Bootstrap” Pringle former principal are also
on the guest list! We can’t forget our narrator
and woman of mystery Beatrice Prendergast,
the girl in high school who could wear a red
dress in a snowstorm and still go unnoticed.
She has been hiding in plain sight all these
years and she knows all! You will know all
too, as the Hampton Choraliers present their
spring show “The Reunion” Friday, March 29th
and Saturday, March 30th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets
are $7.00. Choralier members will be selling
tickets from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Clubhouse
beginning Tuesday, March 12th through Friday,
March 15th and Monday, March 18th.
Tickets will go on sale in the Office beginning
Tuesday, March 19th until they are sold out.
Come for the fun and the mystery. Most of all,
come for the beautiful music provided by your
friends and neighbors, the Hampton Choraliers.
(P.S. If you missed last year’s show, you can
check out a copy of the DVD, “The Invitation”
in the Clubhouse.

BUNCO and CARD BINGO
Just a reminder, when playing BUNCO or
Card Bingo, you must pay in dollar bills
in order play. Thank you!
Sprinkler Systems Please be sure to evaluate your sprinkler
system. It can be a difficult task to gauge if
you are watering your lawn enough or if you
are watering it too much. If your sprinkler
system is causing puddling or trickling onto
the street, you are most likely overwatering.
Therefore, it is suggested that you either re-
duce the length of time each zone is allotted
or reduce the number of days that your lawn
is being watered each week.
Attention ALL Residents The Hamptons Helping Hands (HHH) will
hold its monthly Board Meeting on Feb 12th
at 2pm in the Card Room. All Residents are
invited to attend this meeting. If you are
interested in volunteering for our 2019 fund
raising events, please attend. The primary
focus of HHH is to assist under-privileged
Auburndale elementary and middle school
students with school supplies, school uni-
forms and Christmas presents.
