HISTORY• Gupta empire was founded by siri gupta.• It covered most of the indian subcontinent.• It existed at its zenith from approximately 320 to 550CE.• This period is also known golden age of India.• Many invention and discoveries were made during this time in the

field of literature,mathematics,astronomy,arts,religion ,science,philosphy and engineering

• Gupta period produced many scholors such as vishnu sharma,kalidasa and aryabhata.

• Art and architacture of gupta period is still very famous.

Geography

•The Gupta Empire was located in India; on the Indian subcontinenet.•It's capital was Pataliputra.•The empire went from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal.(and went north)•Its territory included the Indus river, the Ganges, the Namadi, and Godavari river.•The empire had 3.5 million km2 and a population of 58.0 million which means it had 16.6 per km.(0.0166 people/meter2).

• Many university were made during gupta rule.

• Some were only for hindus and some for only buddhists.

• The most famous university of that time was the nalanda university.

Decline of gupta empire

• Last ruler of gupta empire was kumaragupta.

• The gupta empire gradually declinebecause of many factors such as substantial loss of territory imperial authority caused by their own erstwhile feudatories and invasion by the huna people from central asia.

• Gupta empire collapsed in the 6th century.
