We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people and recognise the strength, resilience and capacity of Aboriginal people in our community. Week 9 Term 2 Thursday 22nd June 2017 Books and Blankets Playgroup Wednesday 9.30am—11.00am Join us for a play, our fruit break and a story. Support your child to get ready for preschool next year. Hello, Term 2 is nearly finished. The educators have been reflecting on how much the children have learned and how settled they are at preschool. They have all been working towards our school values: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Caring and Co-operative. As a part of these values and our Wiradjuri language program the educators and children developed a Welcome to Country song which we sing every morning at the start of our group time. The children sing this song so proudly which is a lovely way to all come together as a group. This term we have had a focus on developing language and literacy concepts through sharing nursery rhymes and fairy tales. The children have enjoyed extending their knowledge of fairy tales by rein acting them using props such as masks and costumes. The children recall the story and characters, then are assigned roles. The children act out the story saying the repetitive lines they practiced when we shared the book or rhyme. We have some budding actors here at Bimbi. Thanks for a great term 2, I know term 3 will be just as busy. Tiffany For Reconciliation Week, the Gugubarra’s enjoyed going for a walk to Kunming Reserve. After our long walk there we shared some morning tea and a big drink. We then went exploring the natural features of the reserve looking for interesting objects. The children had so many questions and were so engaged in looking closely at all the natural objects they found. Before it was time to come home we had a play on the playground equipment, which was very exciting. Thank you to Peta (Jade’s Mum) and Susan (Phoebe’s Mum) for coming along and helping. • Maths in Preschool

Bimbi preschool has been a part of an action

project and have developed a Numeracy
