On July 25th, The Guarantee participated in the annual Building for Kids Charity Golf Classic at the Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen, BC. The Guarantee is a long-standing sponsor of the event, which raised $300K to help fund critical programs and research at the BC Children’s Hospital.

The Guarantee proudly sponsored the annual Men’s day at King Valley Golf Club. Attendees enjoyed a day of Golf and Networking followed by

Q3 FinancialsThe Guarantee (consolidated Canada & US) finished Q3 2019 with a GWP of $470.8m, up 31.5% over the same period last year. Loss ratio continues to improve at 101.5%, down 3.3% over the same period last year.

Toronto Staff AppreciationOn July 25th, The Guarantee Toronto Team gathered together at their 5th annual staff appreciation BBQ. Held at Jack Astor’s, everyone enjoyed good food, great conversation and perfect weather on the rooftop patio.

Vancouver Staff AppreciationOn August 21, the Guarantee executive team hosted the Vancouver staff to an appreciation reception. The team enjoyed cocktails and appetizers at the Marriott Pinnacle hotel in downtown Vancouver.

P&C Golf TournamentOn July 11th, The Guarantee participated in the annual Property & Casualty Insurance golf tournament at the Royal Charbourg course in Quebec City. In addition to having a foursome that included broker partners, the company sponsored a hole where the golfers were treated to port and chocolate for a little break.

On October 2nd and 3rd, members of the The Guarantee’s Houston Branch and Texas Commercial Surety teams, Carmen Mims, Joni Maness, and Jeff Barbier, hosted “Lunch and Learn” sessions with two of our partner agencies, Highpoint Insurance Agency and Higginbotham Insurance Agency.

Our goal with these sessions is to help agencies that have some surety business, but surety is not their primary line of business, work with The Guarantee more efficiently and demonstrate that we want to be part of their team.

The Account Managers and Processors for each agency were treated to lunch while we discussed Commercial Surety, Contract Bond

Processing, Financial Statements, the “Whys” behind what we require in order to process bonds, and how we can help make each other’s job easier and more efficient. Our Team gave a PowerPoint Presentation to the group as well as bound reference materials for the participants to keep.

The session was welcomed by all who attended, and we are looking forward to hosting more of these “Lunch and Learn” sessions for more of our agency partners.

The Guarantee has begun the final wave of brokers to be converted on to OneShield from Paxus. This has been done in a staged process, beginning last December, adding brokers throughout 2019. We can now say 100% of our brokers and policies are being converted to our new Underwriting System – OneShield. This has been no small undertaking and will continue through October 2020.

Southfield Office participates in the Surety Association of Michigan Golf OutingOn September 19, 2019, Ed DeVries, Shelby Stein, Casey Strohauer, Austin Kennedy, Sara Corbello, and Nicole Martin (Southfield Office) participated in the Surety Association of Michigan Golf outing at Farmington Hills Golf Club. This outing marked another annual event where local representatives from sureties, agencies, CPAs, as well as legal firms come together in the name of surety bonds and enjoy a nice round of golf. The Surety Association of Michigan is comprised of a community of professionals whose primary function is to educate its members and the public about surety and the protections it offers. The association monitors legislation that could potentially impact our industry as well as providing a forum for its members to stay informed.
