Clinical examination-Information about the farm

• Big Trout situated on Black River• Species kept-Rainbow trout, Brown trout,

Pearch• Categories present- broodstock, fry,

fingerlinks, on groing fish, market size• Capacity- 130 t• 12 workers on the farm

Clinical examination

• Reported by the farmer:– Mortalities- 300.000 juveniles and adults– Unusual behavior– Weakness of fish

• Findings – Negative lab. Test– Water temperature-15 ˚C

Clinical signs

• Darkening of the skin• Lethargy• Exophtalmus• Pale gills• Haemorrhages • Abnormal swimming (flashing and spiralling) • Distended abdomen

Epidemiological investigation

• Suspicion on VHS• No upstream farms• One downstream farm (3km) where the IPN is present • No introduction of live fish on the farm• Live fish export in Albania and on domestic market• Transportation trucks (same) from different companies
