GBC By Laws to be followed for each sport with the following conditions;

Match duration and movement between fixtures

All matches are 20 minutes in duration with change of ends at 10 minutes. Siren will sound every 20 minutes signifying the finish of current match and commencement of next fixture. Officials on each field/court will be responsible for timing of fixture half way mark.

Teams must ensure that they are ready to enter the required field/court at the commencement of each fixture. Where a team is playing across two consecutive timeslots, every effort must be made to access the next field/court as quickly as possible.

Interchange

Touch Football - unlimited and at any time from substitution box as long as player has exited field prior to replacement entering field of play.

Netball – during change of ends at 10 minute mark.

Gender restrictions

No gender restrictions on field/court at any time.

Carnival placings and finals

Points awarded only for secondary divisions (Junior, Intermediate, Senior) – 2 points for win, 1 point for draw. No extra time for any matches.

No finals will take place. First place and penants to be awarded for each secondary division based on most wins accrued.Where teams finish on equal points, points differential will be used to decide division winner.

Scoring of fixtures (Secondary divisions only)

Touch Football – Referees will record and maintain match scores for their allocated field for the duration of the carnival.

Netball – Coaches required to share scoring duties. Clipboard with scorecards will be located and kept at each court for the duration of the carnival.

Playing Uniforms

Touch Football - school/college sports uniform or GBC Touch Football uniform. Numbered shirts/singlets are not required for the carnival. Players are permitted to wear touch football shoes, runners or football shoes with moulded studs. Football shoes with metal studs are not permitted to be worn.

Netball - school/college sports uniform with positional bib worn over shirt or GBC Netball uniform with playing position identifiable. Players are to wear shoes with non-marking soles. To avoid uniform clashes, schools are asked to wear the following bib colours:

TSAC – Red Sheldon – Navy Blue Redeemer – Sky Blue Rivermount – Green or Gold (primary Only) ATC/Brigidine – Green (secondary Only) FLCP – White (secondary only)

Please note: playing uniforms are to be worn by participants to and from the venue. Changerooms will not be available for this purpose.

CARNIVAL DETAILS

First Aid

First aid personnel will be available at both venues for the treatment of injuries. Players are responsible for the purchase and application of their own strapping prior to or during the carnival.

Hydration and Sun Safety

All participants must supply their own hydration for the day. No sharing of bottles. Access to water is limited at the venue.

Participants are encouraged to apply sunscreen at regular intervals throughout the day.

Each school is to provide their own shade tent(s) for student use between games. Set up areas will be allocated to each school. See the Springfield Central Sports Complex map for further information. Shade supplied by host school for officials and first aid personnel.

Spectator and COVID-Safe Procedures

One parent only per child permitted at the grounds as a spectator.

All spectators and officials must check in via the EVA check-in app (see the QR code at the venue). Manual check-in is notavailable, and schools are requested to remind parents of the check-in requirements and process.

Spectators must adhere to social distancing measures and will view fixtures from specified areas only. Areas for participants, coaches and officials will be clearly sign posted. Spectators and parents are not permitted to enter the shade tent area or playing zones.

Players must not share water bottles.

Players must arrive changed and ready to play, amenities are to be used for toileting only. Players must not change at the venue.

Access to this carnival and venue is denied to those persons who have:

Travelled overseas or interstate in the previous 14 days Travelled to any Queensland Government declared COVID hotspot in the previous 14 days Been tested for COVID-19 and not yet received a negative test result Been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19 in the previous 14 days Any flu-like symptoms or a temperature Is in a high health risk category

In accordance with the Health and Safety rules, all players, officials and spectators must obey instructions whilst on the premises.

Details of coaching and school staff and participants will be recorded by each school and provided to GBC.

COVID-Safe Officers will be identifiable at both Touch Football and Netball venues.

Hand sanitising stations will be located in high-traffic areas and at entry and exit points at each venue.

Catering

Cold drinks and pre-packaged snacks available to purchase on the day from The Springfield Anglican College Caravan – card payment only. Coffee and a limited range of hot food available from the Springfield United Football Club canteen at the top of the stairs above the netball courts and amenities.

Catering will be provided for referees, coaches and officials only.

Toilet Facilities

Toilets are situated at the top of the stairs from touch football fields, adjacent to the netball courts.
