The Great Gatsby – covers Since its first publication in 1925, The Great Gatsby has been reissued numerous times in the US and other countries with a lot of different covers. Below you see a selection of these. Study the cover you have been assigned carefully and write down all the impressions and associations you get. Consider the aesthetic value per se, how well it captures what the novel is about and/or how you think it will appeal to readers who know/don’t know the novel. Write down as many arguments in favour of your cover as possible. In each group there are 4 students. Three of you will have a cover which you will argue is the best cover for The Great Gatsby. The fourth student will be the judge who decides who made the best argument and consequently which cover wins.
