love to draw. It doesn’t matter what the subject, just hand me

a pencil so I can capture it. It is amazing how lovely things

can look when rendered in the simple shades of graphite – the light

and shadow brought out to a degree of understated beauty. Some of

the most ordinary things transform into art by the simple

adjustment of light and placement. A paperclip, a clothespin, a

pencil are these ordinary and commonplace or simply

extraordinary things waiting for their chance to shine? Only the

drawing will reveal their true nature.

There is nothing I like more than to have pencils in hand on a

quiet afternoon. The sound as they slide across the paper

scratching their mark as they go. The scent of graphite worked

upon the surface. The joy of taking a step back every once and a

while and watching the work as it progresses. These are my

rewards.

Having one of my drawings reach out and touch the soul of another

– this is my dream.

Meet the Artist

rs. Wyatt enjoys living in Dover, Delaware with her husband

and two Pomeranian puppies. In her spare she enjoys

reading, painting, and writing.

She has been drawing with graphite for only a few years. Her art instruction

consisted of reading everything she could find on the subject. She spent

every spare minute practicing and honing her skill with her pencil until

comfortable and pleased with the results.
