13. What is the good news regarding religions?

Are all religions acceptable to God?

In almost every religion there are people who sincerely searching for God. The good newsis that God sees and cares for them. Sadly, though, religion has been used for evilpurposes. (2 Corinthians 4:3, 4; 11:13-15) Reportedly, some religions are involved even inunspeakable acts of terrorism, genocide, wars and child-abuse. How sad for those whobelieve sincerely in God!Matthew 24:3-5;11, 12.

Whereas true religion glorifies God, false religion offended him. It teaches beliefs notbased on God's Word, including falsehoods about God and the dead. But Jehovah wantspeople to know the truth about him.Ezekiel 18:4; 1 Timothy 2:3-5.

What is the good news regarding religions?

God is not deceived by false religions who claim to love him but actually love Satan'sworld. (James 4:4) In God's Word, Babylon the Great is used with reference to all falsereligions. Babylon was the Mesopotamian cradle of most religions after the Flood ofNoah's day. God will soon rid this earth of false religion that deceive and oppress mankind. Revelation 17:1, 2, 5,16, 17;18:8.

But there is more. God has not forgotten those who earnestly seek him and are scatteredamong the false religions of this world. Teaching them the truth he is gathering peopleunited in pure worship.Micah 4:2, 5.

What should people who is sincerely seeking God do?

Jehovah cares for people who love the truth and righteousness. He exhorted them to fleefrom false religion. People who love God are willing to make changes to please him.

Revelation 18:4.

In the past, many first-century people searchers for God, accepted the good news heardfrom the apostles, with joy. They learned from Jehovah a new way of life that made themhappier and gave them a purpose and hope. That people are a fine example for us todaybecause they accepted the good news by putting Jehovah first in their life.1Thessalonians 1:8, 9; 2:13.

Jehovah accepts into his family of true worshippers those who forsake false religion. Andwhen you accept Jehovah's warm invitation, you will become his friend, will being part of aloving spiritual family and will have everlasting life.Mark 10:29, 30; 2 Corinthians 6:17,

How will God make people throughout the earth happy?

The approaching execution of divine judgment upon false religion is good news. This willbring relief to the oppressed everywhere. False religion will no longer mislead nor dividemankind. Those who will survive, will also worship the only true God in unity.Revelation18:20, 21; 21:3, 4.
