T29- 02:21In the title sequence of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo we see in a series of bizarre and strange scenes to make the receptor feel uncomfortable before the film. This could suggest that the film is strange and questionable as this opening title sequence uncovers many enigmas, such as, what has plants and wasps have to do with the film? What is the dragon symbolising? Etc. As it does not give a narrative or much clue to what the film is about. On the other hand on some footage that the titles have been super imposed on connote power as dragons and phoenixs are known to be powerful yet not real with gives us the sense of supernatural fantasy which are shown in black and white to make them seem more dark and mysterious.Throughout this sequence the most cameras shots we see are close ups or extreme close ups to refine the detail on the objects we are trying to look at as well as hiding obvious features so we are not able to tell as to what is happening around it. It also shows some mid shots of people within the sequence who may be the main characters of the film but is not known yet. Using these types of cameras shots will give the more mysterious and questioning effect as to what the film will be about which makes the receptor wanting to find out more.
