THE GIMP YARNS Gimp yarns are produced with a central core usually viscose around which is twisted an unsupported Lurex® yarn. These yarns have a round cross section and are available either as bourdon gimp (fully covered) or space gimp with a gap between the Lurex® twist showing the core which may give an antique look, particularly with a black core.
