Joe Chez was our emcee this night. He opened the evening with a rope tie effect he said Roy Rogers taught him. With the flick of the rope he was able to tie multiple knots in the rope at one time! Next Mary Mowder performed her version of Pat Page’s Easy Money in which a stack of shopping coupons magically turn into a stack of dollar bills! Up next, David Wright performed a trick by Juan Tamariz. Called How To Find Your Other Half, this effect is found in detail in Woody Aragon’s A Book In English. The magician hands out four cards to several spectators and asks them to follow his instructions. The cards are torn in half, mixed up, exchanged with other spectators and some pieces thrown away. The final card in the hand of each spectator turns out to be the matching half of a card previously hidden from view, a perfect match! JUNE PERFORMANCES (continued from Page 1)John Iacono performed an effect by Pete Biro, The Impromptu Rising Card, in which a selected card is returned to the deck, the deck is wrapped in a paper napkin, and a pencil is poked through the packet. A card magically rises up while the magician holds the ends of the pencil. For a second card trick, John performed a trick by Roland Fox in which a selected card is returned to the deck, a sticker is randomly placed on the back of a card and that card is revealed to be the selected card. Gary Berard next performed Brother John Hamman’s The Gemini Twins where twins meet twins in a seemingly impossible way with four cards. The twins keep changing colors, suits, sexes and positions with cleaver patter and

magical ease. Next Pepe Puglisi informed

us that his magic is inspired by Fu Manchu. He then performed a card trick in which a selected card is torn into pieces, a corner of the card is retained by the spectator and the other pieces are put inside a si lk handkerchief and vanished. A can of peas is opened and a card is found inside, which

turns out to be the fully restored selected card minus the missing corner.

Tom Allen next performed his version of Triumph inspired by J.C. Wagner, Dai Vernon and Herb Zarrow. A card is selected and returned to the deck. The deck is mixed face-up cards into facedown. With a wave of the hand, the deck is perfectly righted, all the cards in one direction, except for the one card --- the selected card. Up last was Dale Lorzo who performed two Bob Haskell effects. The first was Cut and Restored Rope where a length of rope is placed within a folded sheet of paper; the paper is cut in half; the rope is shown to be cut into two pieces but is magically restored

whole again. The second effect is The S h r i n k i n g C a r d s where a f an o f playing cards is magically reduced in size over and over a g a i n u n t i l i t vanishes altogether.
