WINTER 2015 the gift of This fun, family-friendly event is an easy two mile non-competitive fund- raiser supporting the good work of the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond (PRC). Our theme in 2015 affirms life as a gift from God. Since the structure God created for nurturing, protect- ing, and blessing life is the family, we are committed to building biblical families! Through our Parenting Education Resource Center (PERC) we offer parenting classes, Birth of a Family, moms’ support groups, and Bible studies - all designed to establish, strengthen and encourage biblical families. Here is what some of our clients had to say about their experience with Birth of a Family, our discipleship initiative, which mentors moms and dads alongside one another: I have enjoyed being a part of Birth of a Family. It has brought us closer together and given us many wonderful things to focus on for our new family. PRC helps give me more knowledge with my relationship and knowledge for me to try and be the best mom I can be and strengthen my family. This class helped me learn how to communicate better and helps me with diapers and clothes and wipes. The PRC has helped by making me more open-minded about my relationship and my parenting choices. I honestly enjoy coming to class. I really enjoyed the last few weeks here. Helps me to understand and listen to my mate as a family man. Always love to learn more and have respect for myself. Thanks for everything!! This class helps me explain myself and talk about things. I felt the birth of a family classes were very helpful, informative, non- judgmental group for families in need of group meetings. From the

Our 2015 theme, The Gift of Life, challenges us to consider, “What are we doing with this amazing gift that God has given us? Several weeks ago I received a phone call from a PRC client who said that when she came to the PRC she was pregnant, depressed and planning to abort her child, but that things were very different now. As we talked, she was holding her precious son and giving thanks that the PRC had been there for her. She said that when she left the PRC that day, she had hope for her and her child's future and through her visit to the PRC she found her life purpose. She decided to go to nursing school and is planning to become a stenographer and hopes to volunteer with PRC in the future. She now believes and declares "Life is a gift." Every life is a precious gift from Lord God Almighty, who created each life with the exact DNA to fulfill His purpose. This gift of life

begins at conception. King David understood this when he wrote, “…you knit me together in my mother’s womb…. all the days

ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13, 16

King David did not know this from science or ultrasound; God, the Creator of life, revealed it to him. Today, thousands of years later, science and ultrasound confirm the truth of life in the womb. We are grateful! I thank God for the privilege of loving and serving those whom God has created in His image. It is God who gives the gift of life with purpose. It was a joy to hear the testimony of how God met this mom right where she was: there are many more stories of God using the PRC. Thank you for helping this ministry to "be here" for each young mom, dad, and their preborn baby. I invite you to join us on Saturday, May 2 for our Walk for Life. Start engaging sponsors and come walk with us; it will be a joyful walk. Help us create a culture of life in Metro Richmond, as we raise funds so that we can continue to reach more women and men with the message of life. See you there!

Together We Are Making a Difference!

Your investment in the lives of others is making a big difference! We asked our clients, who had received services from the PRC, if they would like to share their appreciation to those who have helped to make all this possible—our volunteers and partners. Many filled out cards telling how you have impacted their lives through the PRC. Here is what some had to say…

The staff really does care about you as a person and you know that they will do any and everything in their power to make sure you have every resource you need. My experience here was very positive and heart warming. God bless the PRC in

everything they do for people.

Very compassionate people and very helpful. Thanks

Nice people to support and help you with programs and any questions you might have about anything. They even have information about help a year

after the baby is born.

Supportive and educational information provided. Prayer and counseling was extremely helpful and heartwarming. I felt extremely comfortable and

confidently at peace when I left.

My visit today at the PRC was very outstanding. Every question or concern I had was explained. Someone

took the time to pray for and with me and that’s what I really needed. Thank you. Amazing.

I am thankful for the help that is offered.

2015 Gala

Here at the PRC of Metro Richmond, exciting things are happening! Through your partnership we continue to be a safe, life-affirming, place where women and men can find help and receive free compassionate care. Your partnership with us enables us to:

♦ Provide women and men with vital information, as well as a free ultrasound, so that they are empowered to make a life-affirming decision for their unborn baby and themselves.

♦ Serve more fathers of the babies through our male ministry and Birth of a Family. Statistics show that the father’s

perspective on the pregnancy and future support has a huge impact on the mother’s decision to carry their unborn child to birth.

♦ Promote our services via the internet and social media so that college-age women see the PRC as their “go to”

place for pregnancy counseling services, STI testing, and sexual lifestyle counseling. The 19-24 age range is the high-est in our community for abortions and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

♦ Help prepare moms and dads for parenting through mom support groups, parenting classes, and Birth of a Family.

You have granted me life

and steadfast love,

and your care has preserved

my spirit.

Job 10:12

Is God Calling You to Serve Alongside Us? We encourage you to consider how God might be calling you to serve the women and men of our community who are challenged, and possibly overwhelmed, by the uncertainty of an unplanned pregnancy. Would you please think and pray about….

♦ Joining our Team of Prayer Partners ♦ Volunteering ♦ Giving a Generous One-Time Gift ♦ Becoming a Monthly Giving Partner

Thank You For Your Partnership

Can’t participate in this year’s Walk for Life? The PRC staff is walking and we would love for you to sponsor one of us!
