Olympic Movement, during the second meeting of women sports

executives, as part of the “Women in Action” programme.

Successful athletes of the past had the opportunity to meet the

new generation, discuss shared concerns and problems,

exchange views and make proposals for the participation of

more women in the Greek Athletic Movement.

Longines Prize for Precision

France’s Thomas Chirault was awarded the Prize for Precision at

the third stage of the 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Salt

Lake City, USA. He shot 60 total 10s through qualification and

third-round-plus matchplay, the most of any of the recurve men.

Stage winner Mauro Nespoli of Italy came second with 56 10s.

medal match at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona

Salt Lake City

Three-time Hyundai Archery World Cup Final Champion Sara

Lopez beat Linda Ochoa-Anderson of Mexico by 17 points, 140

to 123, to claim compound women’s individual gold at the third

stage of the 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Salt Lake City,

USA. She dedicated the victory to her grandmother.

World #1 Stephan Hansen secured a place to the Samsun Final

with victory over Abhishek Verma, 140-132, in a windy final in

Salt Lake. He joins Kim Jongho and Mike Schloesser as

confirmed on the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final roster, with

USA athlete Braden Gellenthien all-but-confirmed on points -

and leading the ranking after three of four stages of the tour.

Italy's Mauro Nespoli became the third recurve man qualified for

season ending in Turkey after he beat Steve Wijler of the

Netherlands, 6-2, in the final. It is the 30-year-old's first

individual win on the international tour and pushes him up to

fourth in the world rankings.

Steve Wijler, although he was reluctant to let people know of

the situation so that it wasn’t interpreted as an excuse, shot the

finals and his early eliminations in Salt Lake with a fracture in

his drawing hand. Considering the injury, the silver medal was

impressive.

Four-time Hyundai Archery World Cup Final silver medallist

Deepika Kumari beat Michelle Kroppen of Germany, 7-3, to take

recurve women's gold at the Salt Lake City stage and book a

ticket to the circuit Final. It will be her seventh appearance at

the season-ending event.
