The Gatehouse has been able to achieve much success on behalf survivors of CSA. The Partner’s Program, funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation successfully completed its third year. The visual arts support group has received extremely positive feedback and is continuing in partnership with Full Circle Art Therapy Centre. A Visual Arts phase 2 was introduced in 2017. The Healing Garden is coming along beautifully and the Labyrinth Nawayee opened on June 25, 2016. The Creative Warriors Art Exhibit was a wonderful success. Thank you to everyone who took part in the event. The Gatehouse, with the incredible support of our student team, continues to reach out to community organizations to inform about The Gatehouse programs, impart wisdom, and instill the importance of self-care. The continued development in the key areas of adult programs, as well as training in the areas of suicide prevention, peer facilitator training and transformational learning processes will remain a core competency of The Gatehouse. The Child Investigation Program continues to provide a safe place for children to disclose abuse and begin the healing process. Over 120 participants took part in the 7 th Annual Transforming Trauma Conference on June 2 sharing their collective wisdom to a highly receptive group looking for ways to transform trauma to triumph. The Gatehouse continues to provide students from college and university the opportunity to complete field placement experience hours from various colleges and universities. Since 2012, 130 students have completed placement hours at The Gatehouse. Phase 1 - 102 people completed our phase 1 program Phase 2 - 88 people completed the co-ed program Art Group - 22 people completed the visual arts support group in 2016 Partners Group – 110 people attended partners’ workshop Drop in – On average 6 – 8 people per week attending. Drop in is Thursdays 7pm- 9pm. Child Abuse Investigation Program *36 investigations were conducted and 42 children interviewed in 2016

Message from the Executive Director

2016 saw a year of continued growth. The Gatehouse has been able to achieve much success on behalf survivors of CSA. The Partner’s Program, funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation successfully completed its third year. The Gatehouse Network International (GNI) website continues to be updated as students are continue in assisting with gathering information about international service agencies committed to helping survivors heal from childhood abuse trauma. Board Members, donors, volunteers, and staff at The Gatehouse are truly transforming lives.
