YYC HAS THE FACILITIES AND FLIGHTS TO KEEP BUSINESSES AND CONSUMERS CONNECTED TO GOODS FROM AROUND THE WORLD.

WE OPENED CANADA’S MOST TECHNOLOGICALLY-ADVANCED AIRPORT TERMINAL ON OCTOBER 31, 2016.
• 24 new aircraft gates• 50 new shops and services• First call-to-gate boarding system in North America• 20 YYC LINK passenger shuttles to move passengers
between terminals• Geothermal energy to heat and cool the building• Co-generation power to offset heating needs• Ability to recycle and reuse rainwater• Its construction required nearly 12 million hours• The terminal opening created 2,000 jobs
• 15.7 million passengers• 80 non-stop destinations served• New non-stop destinations added: • Beijing • London Gatwick • Zurich • Phoenix-Mesa (announced: for service in Jan. 2017) • Mexico City (announced: for service in June 2017)

• YYC moved 137,225 tonnes of cargo in 2016• New 100,000 sq. ft. of additional space for cargo and logistics

NEW PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMS:
• Partnered with Air Canada and the Society for Treatment of Autism to make travel more accessible for families affected by autism.
• YYC and the Pet Access League Society (PALS) enhanced the airport experience with the Pre-board Pals pet therapy program.
YYC AND ITS PARTNERS GIVE BACK:
• YYC supported the first ever Kids Plane Pull in support of United Way.
• YYC passengers and partners contributed $40,000 to Fort McMurray fire relief.
• YYC Crew spread holiday cheer to 65 seniors with the Secret Santa for Seniors program.
• Crew has planned, prepped and served nearly 63,000 meals at the Mustard Seed since 2003.
• The Authority continued its long-time support for Dreams Takes Flight - giving special needs children and their families a trip to Disneyland.
• The Authority continued its partnership with Hope Air and Rotary Challenger Park.
• Crew fundraised $16,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the largest amount of money raised of any corporation participating in the Big Bike Challenge as part of the Calgary Corporate Challenge.
• Raised $112,000 for the Calgary Food Bank at the International Terminal opening event through guest fundraising contributions.
• Sponsored a $10,000 Parks Explorer bike in support of Camp Horizon with eight YYC Crew taking a young girl on her first trip to the top of Moose Mountain.

• The world-famous White Hat Volunteer program celebrated 25 years of service and reached one million volunteer hours.
• The Calgary Airport Authority was a Top Employer for the seventh time.
• Awarded the ‘Special Project’ award by the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering for YYC’s Connections Corridor project.
