REVELATION 3 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven

Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which

remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore

thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon

thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall

walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

172-2 PERGAMEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.5

The bride has the mind of Christ for she knows what He wants done with the Word. She

performs the command of the Word in His name for she has "thus saith the Lord." Then the Word is

quickened by the Spirit and it comes to pass. Like a seed that is planted and watered, it comes to full

harvest, serving its purpose. Those in the bride do only His will. No one can make

them do otherwise. They have 'thus saith the Lord' or they keep still. They know that it has to be God in them doing the works, fulfilling His own Word. He did not complete all His work

while in His earthly ministry so now He works in and through the bride.

E-41 You say, "Now, I know the Bible better than you do, Brother Branham." You don't have life by knowing the Bible. You don't have life by joining

church. You don't have life by being baptized. You don't have life by knowing your catechism. You don't have your life by being a minister. To know Him is Life, not to know the catechism or your church

rules, but to know Him is Life. And that thirst that God give you, isn't to be spent on a church either. The devil if he can't make you go to dances, and drink, and live immoral, and those

things, he's perverted it to make you join church. And that's still perverted, because joining

church doesn't give you life.

Page 13: The Furnace #6. REVELATION 3 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven.

THE.GREATEST.GIFT.IN.THE.BIBLE_ EDMONTON.ALBERTA SUNDAY_ 57-0811A

E-42 But the only way you can have Life is to take that thirst and satisfy it by the drinking at the Fountain that never runs dry, that beautiful Holy

Spirit that rains from God out of heaven. That's the way you find Life is to know Him; not know His Book, but to know Him; not to know your

church, but to know Him; not to thirst to satisfy the pastor, but to satisfy the Lord. That's that holy thirst. That's what it's in you for. And would you quench that with things of the world. It's death.

It's perverted.

Page 14: The Furnace #6. REVELATION 3 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven.

THE.GREATEST.GIFT.IN.THE.BIBLE_ EDMONTON.ALBERTA SUNDAY_ 57-0811A

Did not the Bible say, "If you love the world or the things of the world, it's because of the love of God's

not even in you."? That great holy thirst. You can't satisfy it by joining the church. There's no

satisfaction in joining the church. You're trying to sear your conscience and fill your heart with lust.

Come out in the open; confess your sins, and thirst for God's righteousness. "Because Thy lovekindness is better to me than life, my lips shall praise Thee."

Think of it.

484     His Presence, in the individual, with a personal vindication of Himself expressing Himself,

the living Word that's promised for the day, expressing Itself through you, a vindication of the

great revelation of God. Look, only in an individual, never in a group! An individual; not in a group! His

identification is with an individual. You get that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]

486    It's not a group. It is a personal vindication of a pregnated child of God, filled with the Holy

Ghost, so surrendered to God that he don't care about anything else. And the Holy Spirit living Its Life, pulsating through him, showing the personal--personal vindication of the Word, Itself, expressing Itself to the people and to the world.

The pregnated person with the Seed of God, the Word in there manifesting Itself, so surrendered to

the will of God that the Word, and the Word alone, manifests Itself in this person, the

prisoner, to an individual.

490     Not say, "My church..." Now, "my church" has nothing to do with it.

491    It's an individual, one person! All hell is against this Teaching. All hell is against this Truth, but it is the

Truth.492    Jesus never said, "Now, Peter, you and John,

and all the rest the people, you've got the revelation, now the whole church is saved." No.

493    It was to him, personally. "I say unto thee, thee," not to them, "to thee, thou art Peter;

upon this rock I'll build My Church."

71    So why do you hang onto some group, when they're altogether wrong? The Bible said so,

Revelation 17, it'll all be collected in one great group. But out of there will come individuals that's right with God, not the group right; the individual right, the individual in the group. Now we find out, then, we fuss and go on, about, "We belong to this, and we belong to that." That don't mean one

thing to God.72    It's you as an individual, before God. If... You've got to stand on your own feet. You're the one that

has to make the testimony. Each one of you has to do that, answer to God for the Revelation.

He that hath an ear, let him (singular) hear what the Spirit saith to the churches." Notice here that Jesus (by the Spirit) in EVERY age addresses Himself to ONLY ONE person relative to the Word for that age. Only ONE messenger for each age receives what the

Spirit has to say to that age, and that ONE MESSENGER is the messenger to the true church. He speaks for God by revelation to the "churches", both true and false. The message is then broadcast to all.

But though it is broadcast for all who come within range of the message, that message is received individually by only a certain qualified group in a

certain way. Each individual of that group is one who has the ability to hear what the Spirit is saying by way of the messenger. Those who hear are not

getting their own private revelation, nor is a group getting their collective revelation, BUT

EACH PERSON IS HEARING AND RECEIVING WHAT THE MESSENGER HAS ALREADY

RECEIVED FROM GOD.

E-29 Now, we can preach the Word, explain the Word. But you have to receive the Word. Oh,

hallelujah. That's what sets it afire, brother. When you receive it, the revelation, something slips out of the unseen world yonder, comes rolling down through a mystical channel somewhere into your soul, that says, "Now I see it." Your

eyes brighten; your lips that hung down, straighten up and smile. Every muscle in your body seems to rejoice. Something's going to happen. Something...

You don't need to be in a prayer line then. You've got it then.

247-1 SARDISEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.7It is recorded of Dr. Martin Luther in Sauer's History Vol. 3, page 406 that he was, "a prophet,

evangelist, speaker in tongues, interpreter, in one person,

endowed with all nine gifts of the Spirit."

1124-288 And here, Paul speaking, if a man ever comes to a spot that he's been saved, and

sanctified (The Blood sanctifies; Hebrews 13:12 and 13 says the Blood sanctifies.), and then comes

right up to the gate of the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and because of prestige or

denomination refuses to walk in it, said, "That person is lost and can never be saved"[…]

Because the Blood that saved him, and justified him, and sanctified him brings him up to the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And then walks away and leave it...

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212

140 Everything in the Bible is a three. Three blends to a one. See? Father, Son, Holy Spirit, not three Gods: One. Faith, hope, and charity, not

three different things, but all the essence of one: love.

Now, then there was justification, sanctification, the baptism of the Holy Ghost, not three different

dispensations, not three works of grace, but one work in three different manifestations.

Same Holy Spirit was with Luther, under justification was under Wesley with sanctification; in the Church

now, in the baptism of the Holy Ghost: the same Holy Spirit, not two Holy Spirits, the same Holy Spirit.

Jacob, alone had the seed; that is why he had respect to the birthright and covenant of God. If you are true

seed, you will hear that Word; the Spirit will baptize you into the body of Christ, filling you and

empowering you, and you will receive the Word for your day and age.

252-2 SARDISEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.7

Revelation 3:1b, "I know thy works, that thou has a name that thou

livest, and art dead." Revelation 3:2b,

"For I have not found thy works perfect before God." Now here, indeed, is a very strange thing. In every age to this point the Spirit has first of all praised the true believers, and then denounced the false vine. But in this period there is evidently such wanton disregard for the Lord and His Word that the

entire message to this fifth age rings with condemnation.

•justified by faith (without faith…)

•Responsive to the wooing of His Spirit

•Walking with Him amidst the chaos of the age

And then He goes on--"Thou (this church in Sardis) hast a few people in you that are right, and not wrong like the majority. These walk in clean

garments and they are worthy of Me." Now these people that were the true saints of God were walking

"all pleasing unto the Lord." Their garments were clean. You see in those days the garments would

sweep along on the road and pick up dirt and defilement. These were watching how they walked so

that they were not corrupted by the world. They were in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit. They were holy and without blame

before Him. Thus they were fulfilling their purpose for that is what Ephesians 1:4 says is the purpose of

God for us, "that we should be holy and without blame before Him."

One quick look at that tree saw it was cankered and blighted, denuded of leaf and barren of fruit except for some deformed and wormy fruit that was fast dropping to the ground. But hold a moment! Look

closer. There at the top, in the light of the sun, were some 'first fruits'--a 'Few Names'--perfect in Him

for they were born of Him, filled with Him and walking with Him by His Word.

Thank God for 'those few.'

"And they shall walk with Me." That is what God says He will bestow upon them for this upright walk. That is part of their inheritance that He has reserved for them. If they were willing to walk with Him through the toils and snares of

life and be an honor to Him, He was going to reward them. He is not forgetful of our labour of love.

God will always recompense us for our efforts to please Him.

Yes, they had walked through the world and had not partaken of it. They had not let the world systems

overcome them. […] They had identified themselves with Him on earth and now He would identify Himself with them in the New Jerusalem. And

how marvelous will be that identification! It makes me rejoice and yet it makes me weep to think of His

condescension, for you will note that He is not dressed in another color different from the saints, as earthly leaders would so do. No, they are like Him; He is like them. They are like Him, even as John

said; for "they see Him as He is."
