Recycle your plastics! In this edition of Knowsley News, we’re shining the spotlight on plastics recycling.
In Knowsley, we collect bottle-shaped
plastic such as drinks, shampoo and
detergent bottles, which are made
from high-quality plastics that can be

What about other plastics?Other types of plastic, including pots, tubs
and trays, are usually made from lower
grade plastics which cannot be recycled
by Knowsley residents at the moment.
What about carrier bags?Carrier bags cannot be recycled in your
grey bin. However, many supermarkets
off er carrier bag recycling facilities. Please
check with your local supermarket.
Please remember:
• Please rinse plastic bottles before
putting them in your grey bin. You
don’t need to remove labels or tops
• Plastic bottles are the only plastics
which can be recycled in your grey bin
Although junk mail can be recycled in your grey bin
(ensure you remove any personal information), you
can also pick up a free ‘no junk mail’ sticker which
can be placed on your letter box or front door.
