The fresco 2014

Transcript of The fresco 2014

The reason why Italy has so many frescos painted

both in the churches and in the venetian Villas is

that “Art” is a great form of description: during

the centuries the Church was in need of leading

people who couldn’t even read and write, but

everyone could understand the images

of the frescoes. Aristocratic families wanted to tell their

personal story and leave a lasting memory as a part of the history of

Italy.

The tradition of fresco making is not the same as traditional art, it describes the world and the times in which it has been made and it tells us what we – the

Italians - have been and where we are. In some way it is a form of

communication of the Italian relationships, the aesthetic, the social and the political world during those centuries.

If you think of Italy as an extraordinary Country, if you like our fashion, our architecture, museums, design, art and music, then you will be pleased to come for a “12 days Italian

language and fresco course” which will let you discover the Art of the frescoes by

Pisanello, Andrea Mantegna, Paolo Veronese, Giulio Romano.

We will also provide tours to Sabbioneta

- World Heritage Site -

to visit the magnificent ideal city built by

Vespasiano Gonzaga between 1556 and 1591.

You will see the Gongaza Gallery frescoes which are telling his personal story.

We will bring you to the Basilica of Saint Zeno and see its frescoes

and the famous Tryptych painted by

Andrea Mantegnathe great Master of the Italian fresco.

We will take you to Villa Barbato Maser built by

Andrea Palladio to see the well famous frescoes by Paolo Veronese. The Villa has a winery in the estate and a nice wine tasting is scheduled too.

In the same day we will visit the magnificent

Villa Emo in Fanzolo to see the frescoes

by Giovanni Battista Zelotti.

A visit to Mantua and Palazzo Té with its frescoes by

Giulio Romano is scheduled as well.

We have also planned for you two cooking courses and some wine tastings.

Why? Because the Italian food and wines have a clear link with all the other

Italian arts and….

Because good food and good wines make our life a better one!
