Model of TDU's new Vocaonal Educaon Programmes (VEP)

The B.Voc. programmes are all apprenceship/ internship based and offered in a local model in which students apprence at the premises of industries and businesses at the locaons where they live. They spend 5-days a week, 8-hours a day, working and learning on funconal and state-of-the-art infrastructure available at their places of work, acquiring considerable praccal skills in their chosen domains. Most students will receive spends for their work as per the Naonal Apprenceship Promoon Scheme (NAPS) of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

TDU will also arrange for students to receive the requisite theory courses, in their chosen domains as well as in general educaon, in the same city/ town as their apprenceships/ internships. Evaluaon will be a combinaon of internal assessment as well as end-semester examinaons for the theory poron. Praccal learning will be assessed regularly by the employers. Students are free to exit the B.Voc. programmes at the end of the first year with a Diploma and at the end of the second year with an Advanced Diploma.
