Based on the work a mother did helping her own autistic son learn how

down’s syndrome and hearing impairment find their voice.

use them with my son. I highly recommend this product.” Parent of a non-verbal autistic son

“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.”
Ignacio Estrada
The first thing any parent is told when their child is diagnosed with
autism is that early intervention is the key to securing the best possible
future for their child. But what exactly does early intervention involve
and how can a parent best provide it?
One thing we do know about autistic children is that they learn visually.
Up until now, parents and educators have had to collect images for
themselves, spending hundreds of dollars on the materials alone. It’s
time consuming and difficult to get right.
This was the experience of a mother from New South Wales whose two
year old son was diagnosed with autism three years ago. It led to her

creating an affordable and easy to use collection of 727 flashcards that
come with extensive notes on how to get the most out of the cards,
making the sessions productive and enjoyable.

Her own son went from non-verbal to
verbal using the program, but its
usefulness extends beyond the needs of
the child. The Flashcards also gives
parents the opportunity to better
understand their child – to know what
they know.
Another advantage is that parents of
children with learning delays can use
the cards to assess the severity of their
child’s condition. As anyone with a
child with special needs knows, it’s an expensive business. A simple
assessment by a trained speech therapist can cost upwards of $400. Add
to this the cost of increased care and most families struggle to finance
such programs .

Flashcards are the best on the market to date. It is
very user friendly, well organized and durable. I
bought the set for my non-verbal autistic son’s ABA
(Applied Behavioural Analysis) Therapy Program as
well as a means of communication for him. It is very
impressive and affordable. It is so easy to follow and
efficient that even inexperienced parents like me
can use it with my son. I highly recommend this
product.
