What is the First Amendment? CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT

OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF THE PRESS; OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE PEACEABLY TO ASSEMBLE, AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES.

The Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution was ratified on December 15, 1791

Freedom of Religion Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion on

religion. They are also allowed to have a religion of their choice and to show it freely.

The Freedom of Religion is an inalienable right.

Freedom of speech gives you the right to freely express yourself, which can also be called Freedom of expression

What is Freedom of Press? The First Amendment gives the press the right

to publish news, information and opinions without government interference.

This also means people have the right to publish their own newspapers and newsletters.

What is Freedom of Assembly?

The right to hold public meetings and form associations without interference by the government

Free to stand or go against something

Right To PetitionAs a US citizen you have the right to petition: Congress State Governments and

Legislatures Courts at any level

Under the right of petition, individuals and groups of citizens and corporations may lobby for laws and policies that favor them.
