Cartographer Cartographers map out the tomb design. Cartographer decide where the tombs are placed and they need to be in a safe place.Safe places for the tombs are locations where no water can come in, with a result of flooding. Underground is usually a good spot to be buried.

Cartographer The Valley of the Kings is where the tombs are located.The West Valley is where the average people’s tombs are placed.The East Valley is where royalty's tombs are placed. The Valley of the Kings is on the the west side of the Nile River.

Mrs. Amada’s TombMrs. Amada decided to have her tomb placed on the beach where she can hear the waves.She also choose to be buried in Thailand on a beach with pink sand and seashells surrounding her.She also wants food located in her tomb.

Architect An architect builds and design tombs for Egyptian people. Also they design the outside of the tomb. They design the inside chambers and passageways, and a place for offerings. Architects make tombs stable.

Mrs. Amada’s Tomb Mrs. Amada want’s a normal pyramid made from limestone (on the small side) with smooth edges. She would like three chambers: a burial chamber, a chamber to hold her stuff and an offering chapel.

Archeologist An archeologist finds artifacts.An archeologist also finds tombs to help research.Archeologists study the objects inside the tombs.

ArcheologistAn archeologist’s job is to go around the world looking for artifacts. Another thing the archeologist does is study the ancient artifacts inside the pyramids. A third thing the archeologist does is find tombs around the world and study them for research.

Mrs. Amada’s Tomb Mrs. Amada would like silver on her tomb.Mrs. Amada would like a plain anhk on her tomb.In Mrs. Amada’s tomb she would like photos of family and friends, The Book of the Dead, plants and clothes.In Mrs. Amada’s tomb she would also like a plain carving of an anhk and a plain carving of a cat.

About My Job Mari

An artist is a person who looks at different types of art. They also study why that person drew that piece of art. They also look for what the art means or what it tells us about the person life or culture. Artists also study tomb paintings. Another thing they do is study why that piece of art work is there. They also look for specific types of colors and patterns.

Mrs. Amada’s Tomb Mari

Mrs. Amada would like her name printed in hieroglyphics on her tomb. She would also like some photos of her family and friends, a CD player and CD’s to listen to music, food so she can eat, art supplies so she can paint, and some plants. Mrs. Amada will also like an Anhk, and a Cat for a symbol on her tomb. The colors she would like on her tomb are deep purple, indigo, teal, and silver.

Embalmer Embalmer is a person who preserves the body and gets it ready for its funeral.They do that so they can live in the after life.The embalmers wrap the mummy up.They also remove the organs.

Steps To Embalming Ashley

Step 1- remove the organs from the body then store the organs.

Step 2- after 40 days check if the natron is gone.

Step 3- if it’s dry wrap the person up with linen.

Step 4- put organs in jars.

Step 5- stuff the body with sand dust and chaff.

Step 6- wrap the mummy in 20 layers of linen bandage.

Step 7- Then place the mummy in a wooden coffin.

Step 8- Place the wooden coffin in a sarcophagus and burry it.
