Term 3, Week 2 2019
Year 8 PDHPE
Last term Year 8 PDHPE classes completed a topic on Teenage Mental Wellness. Mrs Furze’s class created a
collaborative display that highlighted the four common mental illnesses: Depression, Anxiety, Bi Polar
Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Students researched signs, symptoms, individual experience
quotes, definitions and a wide variety of support networks at school, online and in the community. Their
work is very impressive and can be found on the wall as you enter C block.

Albury/Wodonga Eisteddfod
On Wednesday July 31st nearly 70
dancers participated in the annual
Eisteddfod at the Performing Arts
Centre.
They were all fantastic and danced
beautifully. Mrs Joss’ Year 11/12
class won the trophy for first prize
which is a wonderful achievement
and a testament to their hard work.
The two Riverina Albury Dance
Ensembles that are based at James
Fallon HS both performed exhibition
dances at the end of the
competition program.

Jesus Christ Superstar
You are invited to attend Revolution Theatre Productions' Jesus Christ Superstar, being performed at the
Albury Entertainment Centre from 12-15 September 2019.
By doing so you will be supporting the following students from James Fallon High School who are in the
production:
Zach Kardol – Apostle Andrew and Ensemble
Caitlyn Peffer - Ensemble
Director, Christine A Duff, Musical Director, Paul Brosche, and Choreographer, Cazz Kardol, together with
their cast, have put together an inspiring new take on this Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera
classic. If you thought you knew Jesus Christ Superstar the musical … think again! This emotion-charged
piece of new theatre will be on stage for FIVE shows only:
Thursday, 12 September 2019 - 7:30 pm
Friday, 13 September 2019 - 7:30 pm
Saturday, 14 September 2019 - 2:00 pm
Saturday, 14 September 2019 - 7:30 pm
Sunday, 15 September 2019 - 2:00 pm
Set to a blistering new rock score, the last days of the life of Jesus Christ are brought sharply into focus when
seen through the eyes of the Apostle Judas Iscariot. Lloyd Webber’s 1973 epic chronicle of love, betrayal and
politics, chronicles the familiar story of the last week of the life of Jesus Christ ending with his inevitable
crucifixion.
The audience is confronted with a modern-day Judas who re-examines his version of events and the roles
Mary, Pilate, Herod, the twelve apostles and others took in the lead up to the destruction of one man. In a
stark re-imagined setting, this new version of Jesus Christ Superstar sets out to challenge and reward its
audience who, alongside Judas, await the answer to - “I only wanna know”.
Revolution Theatre Productions Jesus Christ Superstar features a huge cast of talented singers and
performers and is backed by a live orchestra and stunning effects, so this is one show you won’t want to
miss. Get a group together and grab your tickets for a rock show like no other. Tickets are available online
from the Albury Entertainment Centre or by contacting the box office on (02) 6043 5610.
Did you know … by attending a Revolution Theatre Productions performance, you not only get to enjoy a live
theatre experience, but you also get to give back to the community. As the fundraising arm of Albury
Wodonga Community Chest Incorporated, 50 per cent of the net profits from each production generates
funds for charitable gift giving work by Albury Wodonga Community Chest Incorporated. Past beneficiaries
have included Belvoir Special School, Wewak Street School, Mercy Health, Betty's Place and Albury Wodonga
Cancer Foundation, to name a few. The other 50 per cent is for support of future productions for fundraising.

The Importance of Attendance
HIGH ATTENDANCE = MORE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES = MORE QUALIFICATIONS
= MORE CHOICE
Ways for parents to encourage attendance:
Regularly check your child’s attendance record at the school to see if it matches with your own record.
Talk regularly with your child about school and how they feel about it. They are more likely to attend if
they feel supported and their anxieties are acknowledged.
Only grant days at home for genuine illness.
Avoid taking holidays in school time.
Praise and reward good attendance and punctuality in the mornings.
If you have concerns, ring the school and ask to talk to your child’s Year Advisor.
