INTRODUCTIONTheFacultyofLawwasestablishedatTheUniversityoftheWestIndiesin1970,thenbasedattheCaveHillCampus.ItsprimaryobjecZveistoprovideforanacademicqualificaZonwhichisacompulsoryprerequisitetoprofessionallegaltrainingforlawyersintheCommonwealthCaribbean.However,thetradiZonalbasiclegalskillsofconciseandperZnentoralargument,systemaZcandrelevantpresentaZonofessenZalissues,clarityandprecisionofwriRenopinionsanddetachedandbalancedjudgmentarealsousefulandreliableskillsforotherprofessionssuchastheCivilandPoliceService,Accountancy,BankingandCommerce.
TheFacultyofLawoffersbothundergraduateandpostgraduateprogrammes.TheundergraduateprogrammeisofferedonlytostudentsfromterritorieswhichcontributetotheFaculty.Theprogrammeisdividedinto3parts-PartI-IIIareofferedattheSt.AugusZne,CaveHillandMonaCampusesandalsoattheCollegeoftheBahamas.PartIisofferedattheTurkeyenCampusoftheUniversityofGuyana.
