FACEBOOK PAGE VS PROFILE Page is for business and marketing Profile is for personal use Facebook’s terms state that profiles are

not to be used for “commercial gain” How do you know if you have a Page or

a Profile?Are your connections called “Friends” or

“Likes”?

HELP! I HAVE A PROFILE! If you want to market your business on

Facebook, you’ll need to get switched over to a Page

You can convert your personal profile into a business Page – Facebook’s Help Center has instructions on how to do this

All your Friends are automatically converted to “Likes”

Your friends won’t know you’ve switched, they’ll still get your updates same as before

Set up a new personal profile and only invite the close friends you want on there – everyone else is now on your new Page!

The One Important Element to Include on your Facebook Page to Attract New Fans

DEFINITIONS: Landing Page is the first page that

someone lands on when they visit your Facebook Page

This can be your Wall or another sub-page that you specify

Fan Gate is a function that shows one page to non-fans and another page to fans

Non-fans are automatically redirected to the fan page once they click Like

HOW TO SET IT UP Use a Facebook App for “iFrames” Some HTML is needed, as well as

graphic design skills if you want something really custom and nice

Can include video, audio, images, downloads and just about anything else you’d like to put on there

Have an expert do it for you!

WHAT TO PUT ON YOUR WELCOME PAGE? For non-fans: tell them what they will

get when they click “Like” – give them a reason to want to be a fan

For fans: deliver on the promise you made before they clicked “Like”!

Give them an audio, ebook, video, etc Make it downloadable Bonus points if it’s something they can’t
