The Law of God

• Principles are universal, but the applications are based on the authority in force

• The law was given to Israel Deut. 5:2-3• It is not a universal law (not for Abraham)• Not for other nations even then 4:6-7• Let us not confuse principle with application• Let us learn about God from His law to Israel

• God requires obedience 4:1• God forbids any deviation from His word 4:2• His word reflects His wisdom 4:6-8• Obedience glorifies God 4:7• Manner of giving the law 4:15• Therefore idolatry is wrong 4:16-19• Manner of giving the law 4:33• He showed His love 4:32-38
