Our goal is to provide our adult students with the tools they need to use the languages
they learn in an authentic and effective way, and to enable them to certify their acquired
linguistic competence through our proficiency exams, recognized officially in all of Spain
by governments, universities, and employers. Our teaching aims to contribute to the
recognition of and respect for cultural diversity by promoting a plurilingual society
through life-long learning.

The system of public schools of languages in Spain (EOI) is an institution with over 100
years of service. Our long heritage of excellence, combined with our innovative use of IT
and social learning platforms, attracts adults of all ages and from all walks of life. This
combines with our broad range of cultural activities to promote languages and language
learning, and to foster teacher and student participation in international programs.
LANGUAGE LEARNING FOR EVERYONE
Our school has a broad background in international educational programs that provide
the opportunity for both teachers and students to share and improve their academic
experience through exchanges with other countries.
INTERNATIONAL SCOPE
The EOI de Santiago shares updated information on its website and is present in social net-
works including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube.
As for our teaching staff, its expert members integrate a variety of information and commu-
nication technologies into their teaching approaches, such as working with tablets, pu-
blishing blogs, designing LMS, and managing social learning platforms that enhance our
students’ learning experience both inside and outside the classroom. Our teachers share this
TECHNOLOGY AND CULTURE
expertise with other professionals through conferences and workshops at
national and international events.
But our educational offer also includes a space for downtime. To provide a
more relaxed learning experience beyond the classroom, we organize a
variety of cultural activities including study trips abroad.
In addition to the main school in Santiago (Vi-
te), where we teach English, French,
Galician, Italian, Portuguese, and
Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE/SFL),
there are five satellite schools located in Ne-
greira, Ordes, Ribeira, and Santiago (Sar),
which offer classes in English, and Noia, where
French is also available.
Besides our regular courses, we offer a range
of specific courses in English and French as
part of our region’s professional development
program for teachers of CLIL. We also provide
specific courses in English and Galician for
professionals in areas such as public adminis-
tration or the media.
Finally, we offer preparatory courses for the CELGA
(certification exams in Galician).
