The equilibriums of star wars and the stages of the hero's journey

1. A state of equilibrium (All is as it should be.)The equilibrium is the Empire rules the galaxy and

the rebellion are against the empire.

2. A disruption event, the disequilibriumThe Death Star has plans to attack Alderaan and

captures Princess Leah.

3. A recognition that the disorder has occurred. They find death stars plans for Alderaan.

4. An attempt to repair the damage of the disruption.Rebellion get onto death star and pretend to be storm

troopers. They have plans to blow up death star.

5. A return or restoration of a NEW equilibrium. The Death Star explodes. The rebels feel confident in

their first major win over the empire.

Equilibrium

The stages of the hero’s journey:• Ordinary world: The world the hero will be forced/choose to

abandon- Luke originally is at his home land, on a farm.

• Call to adventure: A problem or challenge- r2d2 gets a message from princess leia calling for help.

• The refusal of the call: Fear or reluctance strikes the hero- Luke gets confused after princess Leia’s message, he questions parents at dinner.

• Meeting with the mentor- After being attacked by sand people obi wan Kenobi comes to help Luke.

• Crossing the threshold- The hero commits to the adventure When Luke and his team (han,obi-wan..) end up on death star and go in disguise as storm troopers.

• Tests- Enemies learn the rules that govern the heroes tests. When they realise that they are dressing up as storm trooper.

• Approach the innermost cave- The most dangerous confrontation yet. This is when they get into the prison cells and save princes leia.

• Ordeal- Hero must face his enemy, this is when Luke is trying to get back to the ship crossing the storm troopers and Darth Vader.

• Reward- Celebration of victory- When the rebellion are happy and celebrate Princess Leia’s return.

• The road back- Forces controlled by villains released. When the rebellion find out that death star are planning to blow up the rebellion. They have to make plans fast.

• Resurrection- The final conflict- when Luke is in a ship and has to use one shot to target death star and darth vader is right behind him.

• Return- Back to normality/new adventure- Luke returns to rebellion and they celebrate that they managed to blow up death star.
