◦Act 19:26  And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods.

◦Act 19:27  And there is danger not only that this trade of ours may come into disrepute but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis may be counted as nothing, and that she may even be deposed from her magnificence, she whom all Asia and the world worship."

“Affliction we experienced in Asia.”◦2Co 1:8  For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.

◦2Co 1:9  Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

◦2Co 1:10  He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.

“I fought with beasts at Ephesus”◦1Co 15:30  Why are we in danger every hour?◦1Co 15:31  I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!◦1Co 15:32  What do I gain if, humanly speaking, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."

◦Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.◦I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;◦and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.

To the Church in Ephesus - Jesus◦Rev 2:2  "'I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

◦Rev 2:3  I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary.

◦Rev 2:4  But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

Love Grows ColdLove the greatest emotion in the universe even above faith

◦Rev 2:4  But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.◦Rev 2:5  Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

“To the Church in Ephesus” - Jesus But the Wrong outweighed the Right

(How are YOU doing?)◦ Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.◦ I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have

not grown weary.◦ I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, ◦ and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call

themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

◦ But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.◦ Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at

first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

◦Solution: “Do the works you did at first.” – They had Experience! They knew how to achieve ‘perfection’ in Jesus’ eyes and had achieved it previously!
