How the Challenge Works

The Engineering Scholarship Challenge will match all gifts to the Engineering Annual Fund designated for scholarships, fellowships, undergraduate research or international study, up to $10,000 per year.

Levels of Recognition*Annual Fund Donor $1 – $99

Century Club Member $100 – $249

Century Club Fellow $250 – $499

Dean’s Committee $500 – $999

William Greenleaf Eliot Society

Eliot Society Member $1,000 – $2,499

Eliot Fellow $2,500 – $4,999

A gift of $2,500 will fund an undergraduate in the International Study Abroad Program.

Eliot Benefactor $5,000 – $9,999

You may establish a named annual scholarship, graduate student stipend or a four-year undergraduate research award for each gift of $5,000 or more.

Eliot Patron $10,000 – $24,999

Danforth Circle

Dean’s Level $25,000 – $49,999

Chancellor’s Level $50,000 or more

*Your recognition level is based on your gift and will not include the matching dollars from the Engineering Scholarship Challenge.

The Engineering Scholarship Challenge

Peter (BSChE ’79) and Ellen Leemputte have generously established a $250,000 challenge to support scholarship gifts to the Annual Fund

for the School of Engineering & Applied Science. The Leemputte Challenge benefits engineering undergraduate and graduate students and supports the goals of Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington University

More than half of all undergraduate students in the school need financial assistance to attend Washington University. The school also provides financial support to more than 90 percent of first-year doctoral students. Scholarships help to ensure that no deserving student will miss the opportunity for an outstanding engineering education.
