Acknowledgme
Recently in the animal production industry, much
concern has been raised about the use of antibiotics as
growth promoters due to the increased awareness of
the potential risk of antibiotic resistant bacteria.
Several studies have explored alternate growth
promoters that mitigate the risk. For example, yeast has
been used as a possible substitute. Yeast products are
considered natural growth promoters and have been
used successfully in ruminant diets to increase
production; however, similar conclusions in
monogastrics have been inconclusive (Gao et. al. 2008).
Various studies have reported inconsistent findings
when yeast culture (YC) is supplemented to broiler chick
diets. Al- Mansour et. al. (2011) concluded that
inclusion of 0.125% YC in broiler chick diets did notimpact ADG or feed efficiency, while Gao et. al.(2008)
reported that 0.25% inclusion of YC in broiler diets
increased ADG and feed efficiency. In this experiment,
the hypothesis was that the addition of YC to the diet
will improve ADG and feed efficiency in broiler chicks
(aged 0-2 weeks).

Thirty, four-day old chickens were randomly selected and
