Logline: A candlestick, full of life, shines brightly till his life nears its end and his

light begins to fade.

Premise: What if candles gave life to the candlestick that holds them?

3 Act Structure:

Act 1: A candlestick stands on top of a cabinet in a hallway. The new candles are lit and

the candlestick is broughtto life. He’s proud toshine and have a purpose.

Act 2: A second candlestick is added to the display. When her candles are lit she too

comes to life. The male candlestick falls in love with her instantly and sets about wooing

her with dance. The female candlestick reciprocates his love and the stand happily

together.

Act 3: The male candlestick’s candle has melted down to its final few centimetres. He has

become frail and weak. The male candlestick spends his last few moments in the female

candlestick’s arms as his candle slowly burns out. The females light is all that is left.

A match is lit then both candlesticks are seen standing next to each other happily with

fresh new candles.

Step Outline:

Step 1: There is a tastefully decorated hall-way with a large wooden cabinet. On top of

the cabinet is a single three-pronged candlestick.

Step 2: The candles on the candlestick are lit

Step 3: The candlestick, Wax, comes to life and explores his new found ability by dancing.

Step 4: Proudly he stands tall and shines brightly.

Step 5: Wax wakes up to find a new candlestick, Glow. She too is alive but she stands

still.

Step 6: The Wax swoons and dances over to Glow.

Step 7: He holds out a hand to Glow to ask her to dance

Step 8: She accepts and they dance finishing in a lift.

Step 9: The two candlesticks stand side by side happily shining brightly.

Step 10: Montage of the same image of the two standing side by side but showing their

candles getting lower and lower. The lower it burns the weaker they get.

Step 11: Wax’s candle has melted down to the last few centimetres. He stands weakly

unable to move. Glow makes her way over to him.

Step 12: Glow holds the male in her arms as the dark closes in around them as his flameweakens. A wax drip runs down Glow’s face.
