TOPIC ONE
Thanks to everyone
for your hard work
this past winter.
We’re shedding our
boots and gloves and
getting ready for the
final push of the
school year.
Please enjoy your
spring recess and be
sure to take some
time to rest and relax.
Let’s all recharge our
batteries and come
back ready to round
out the year.
Enjoy!

CHILD FIND NOTICE/SPECIAL EDUCATION
E ach school district in New York State is required by law to establish a Committee on Special Education which is comprised of parents
and professional school personnel. This committee reviews the needs of each child referred and determines if she/he is educationally disabled. Appropriate services or programs for identified children are then recommended by the Committee to the Board of Education.
When the Committee on Special Education has determined that students with special education needs cannot be provided for in the District schools, appropriate out-of-district instructional programs are arranged at the District’s expense. The school district is also responsible for the placement of preschool children, ages 3 and 4, who have been identified by the Committee on Preschool Special Education as educationally disabled and special education teachers. Contact the Special Education Office at 537-8254 or your building principal if you feel your child may require special educational services.

TREAT YOURSELF! A pedicure or even a
cup of coffee from your local coffee shop
can be just the pick-me-up to start the week
off. If the weather is nice you can spend
some time outside soaking in the warm,
spring sun. Take time to enjoy the things
that bring you joy.
COMMUNICATE! Spend some special time with your significant
other and kids. Sometimes an afternoon of fun activities like
bowling, hiking, or a trip to the park is just what’s needed to bring
you all together. Or, maybe take some time to meet up with a
friend. Grab a cup of coffee or lunch and spend the afternoon
catching up. It’s always refreshing to see a familiar face and have
some adult conversation.
TRY PRODUCTIVE LAZINESS! Have a day or two of “productive
laziness” - a great way to get things done on your to-do list that are
perpetually pushed to the back corner. Finish that book that’s been
on your bedside table for weeks, make a new recipe you’ve been
meaning to try, or try out something new at the gym. Even though
there may not be a lot to show for it, you can still feel accomplished
at the end of your “productively lazy” days.
BE A STUDENT! Show your creative side by signing up for a
painting class or build something in the backyard. You could
also find a creative friend and swap lessons- if a friend is great at
painting, and you’re good at woodworking, take some time to teach
each other a new skill. This is a perfect opportunity to learn
something new, and it’s even better if it’s one you can pass along
to students after you go back to school.
SLOW DOWN! Make some memories with your family, even if it’s
something as simple as a family movie night with pizza and popcorn.
Catch up on some sleep, drink plenty of water, go for a walk. Try
not to stress too much during Spring Break. Its the beginning of a
fresh, new season, so let there be a fresh, new you that comes back
to school!
