The Duchossois Family Scholars Program A distinguished merit scholarship program at Culver Academies The Duchossois family has supported the Culver Academies for over 50 years. They have also put back significantly into the community in which they live through a variety of scholarship opportunities and significant endeavors in health care and other areas of need and promise, especially in the Chicago area. Craig Duchossois, a 1962 graduate of Culver Military Academy, is the CEO of Duchossois Industries, Inc., of Elmhurst, Illinois, a family-owned and -operated company; and is a member of The Culver Educational Foundation Board of Trustees. What makes a Duchossois Scholar?• A high level of academic aptitude and enthusiasm for learning.• Evidence of responsible citizenship and community service. • A sense of caring that reaches beyond self.• Communication skills.• Capacity for original thought.• Mental and physical vitality.

Who is Eligible?• Incoming 9th and 10th grade boys and girls.• US citizens residing in a Midwest state (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas)

How are Duchossois Scholars Selected?• Semi-Finalists are selected from all candidates who have completed the Culver Academies Application Process and have submitted a Merit Scholarship Application by January 15.• Finalists are selected by the Duchossois Scholarship Selection Committee, comprised of Culver faculty and staff.• Finalists and a parent are invited to campus for a Duchossois Scholarship Weekend; which includes an interview with the Duchossois Scholarship Selection Committee and a celebration banquet dinner.• Scholars are notified by the Duchossois Scholarship Committee.
