CBDC NEWS

September was ITP Awareness Month and CBDC staff thought long and hard about what we could do that isn’t already being done...parody rap. Set to the tune of Naughty by Nature’s 1991 hip-hop smash “O.P.P.” the CBDC cover gives some history of the disorder and the most common symptoms. Happy Trails!

Our group attended sessions on ethics, women’s health, anxiety, and aging, among others. They also receivedvaluable updates on conditions like HIV and Hepatitis C. The group even “live-tweeted” some sessions. For a recap, visit twitter.com and search for #CBDCinDC and/or #NHF2014.

On October 12th, CBDC staff took a group of patients horseback riding at the “Rockin’ P Ranch” in Pekin, IL.

Patients took part in a brief safety session before embarking on an hour long trail ride, followed by an educational discussion over hotdogs and smores.

There was a tremendous amount of inter-est in this event. We are looking into the possibility of hosting another trail ride in the spring.
