A NOTE FROM BISHOP ZARAMA During the pandemic we the faithful have made every effort in the Diocese of Raleigh to exercise charity and compassion while safeguarding the health and welfare of one another. These actions have necessarily included separation from one another and limits on how many of us may gather for the liturgy. As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, we have a unique opportunity to give even greater witness as a Catholic
community of believers. May our continued return to Mass provide us with even greater awareness of the beauty and wonder of our faith and the importance of our relationship with one another as the body of Christ. Bishop Zarama has continued to dispense the faithful from their Sunday obligation. While this dispensation is applicable to all, it is continued primarily for the elderly, sick, those with pre-existing health conditions or other vulnerable people.

Coronavirus Update May 17, 2021
as it relates to our Parish Because of the Governor’s new ordinance that began on May 14 we have new protocols: 1) We will no longer have tape on the pews for social distancing. The vestibule and choir loft will be available for anyone who would like to continue social distancing. 2) We will continue with communion under one species until July. 3) The sign of peace will still be omitted until June 1. 4) We will start passing the offertory baskets around once we have enough ushers to do so. 5) May 16 was the last day for livestream Masses (Thank you to all who helped make this happen week after week.) 6) All restrictions for mask wearing are to be determined by the individuals. Please continue to keep the
sick, all our health care workers, and the deceased and their families in your
prayers.
VENI, Sancte Spiritus, et emitte caelitus lucis tuae radium.
COME, Holy Spirit, send forth from heaven the rays of thy light
Veni, pater pauperum, veni, dator munerum veni, lumen cordium.
Come, Father of the poor; Come, giver of gifts, Come, light of [our] hearts.
Consolator optime, dulcis hospes animae, dulce refrigerium.
Oh best Comforter, Sweet guest of the soul, Sweet refreshment.
In labore requies, in aestu temperies in fletu solatium.
In Labor rest in the heat, moderation; in tears, solace.
O lux beatissima, reple cordis intima tuorum fidelium.
O most blessed Light fill the inmost heart of thy faithful.
Sine tuo numine, nihil est in homine, nihil est innoxium.
Without your spirit, nothing is in man, nothing that is harmless
Lava quod est sordidum, riga quod est aridum, sana quod est saucium.
Wash that which is sordid water that which is dry, heal that which is wounded.
Flecte quod est rigidum, fove quod est frigidum, rege quod est devium.
Make flexible that which is rigid, warm that which is cold, rule that which is deviant.
Da tuis fidelibus, in te confidentibus, sacrum septenarium.
Give to thy faithful, who trust in thee the sevenfold gifts.
Da virtutis meritum, da salutis exitum, da perenne gaudium, Amen, Alleluia.
Grant to us the merit of virtue, Grant salvation at our going forth, Grant eternal joy. Amen. Alleluia.

Children’s Hunger Elimination of Wilson (CHEW)
CHEW distributes weekend meals to chronically hungry students in Wilson County. The food is purchased with donations from
civic and community groups, individuals, and many churches including St. Therese. The real strength of CHEW is the many volunteers that give of their time and energy to staff the distribution centers and pack the food items for distribution to assigned schools. We would like to thank our faithful volunteers at St. Therese that have picked up, packed and/or delivered the food for Hunt High School this year. We could use a couple more volunteers. If you would like to help in this very worthwhile ministry, please contact the Church office. We will be off for the summer and will start up again in September.
