Hope, Humanity & Holistic Care

SELF-EMPOWERMENTOur Creating a Healthier Life workshops in Dane County provide a self-help tool for creating and maintaining balance in your life .

Our advocacy and support for women in the Wisconsin Women’s Correctional System (WWCS) is statewide and we correspond with women in the three correctional facilities.

We collaborate with women and their parole agents in community corrections in Dane county.

Holistic care, evidence based practice and support is the key to wellness, recovery and moving forward in a positive and productive manner.

This benefits the woman and her ties to the community. We meet women where they are at and work with them to build a strong foundation for successful reentry.

We look forward to providing additional resources in the future.

Please note: The Demeter Foundation does not provide legal counsel or services.

Opportunities for women reentering our communities...The Demeter Foundation, Inc. (TDF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. TDF has programs and services that provide resources, support and skills for women to make a successful reentry in Wisconsin.

Our MissionAdvocating and educating for the humane treatment and the civil rights of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women in Wisconsin. To reduce recidivism and gain self-empowerment, healing and strength.

As part of our commitment to the women we serve we conduct research and analysis regarding

the policies and procedures which drives the state programs

in the Wisconsin Women’s Correctional System. Over

80% of women have a mental health diagnosis and/or

substance use disorder. We support trauma-informed care in order that women can heal and gain a better quality of life. Our

goal is to educate on the positive return on investment for the

women and our communities.

The Divine FeminineThe Demeter Foundation incorporates the concepts of the Divine Feminine. The Divine Feminine encompasses the wisdom, compassion, self-empowerment, healing and great strength and power that all women possess.

We promote the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Eight Dimensions of Wellness. Emotional, Financial, Social, Spiritual, Occupational, Physical, Intellectual, and Environmental.

SERVICES WE PROVIDEOur Welcome Home Kits are available to women reentering from the state prison system to our communities in 68 of the 72 counties in Wisconsin within the first 30 days they are home. These kits contain personal essentials such as tooth brushes, soap, socks, combs/brushes and other items.

We also offer informational resources to assist women in finding the services they need. Including information for women with disabilities.
