Project Connection

1. As a group, read, watch, or listen to The Curious Garden by
Peter Brown.
2. Individually, or with a partner, complete the tri-fold that is in
the binder.
3. Be sure your name(s) is on the tri-fold and turn in.
4. Extension: Learn about the history of turning rails into trails at:

Materials needed:•Picture book•Six puzzle pieces, each with a different element of a story on it•Marker•Tape•Colored pencils•Laptop, only if you need to watch flocabulary video

1. As a group, read the picture book in the station basket
(each group will read a different book).
2. Together determine: plot, setting, character, theme,
conflict, and narrator. Fill out the puzzle pieces found in
the binder using the black marker. NOTE: If you have
trouble remembering what the definitions of the 5
elements of a story are, review:

3. Put the six puzzle pieces together to form a gardening
picture.
4. Color with colored pencils, if you have time.
5. Clean up station area.
