Rosalyn Huff is a sen-

ior at UTD majoring

in International Politi-

cal Economy and mi-

noring in Political Sci-

ence. Rosalyn was

selected as a cohort

in the nationally rec-

ognized Harvard Ken-

nedy School Public

Policy and Leadership

Conference in 2012.

Later that year, she

was the only selected

UTSA honors student

to attend the Republi-

can National Conven-

tion. After her junior

year she transferred

to UTD. Rosalyn

started a collegiate

Turning Point USA

chapter at UT Dallas,

and she hopes to be a

catalyst to have more

political activism on

her college campus.

Her goal is to become

an attorney.

We are accepting nomi-

nations to fill board posi-

tions for next year.

Sharon Kappers grew up in

Wisconsin. She has lived in the

Dallas area for 30 years. Sharon

was a sales manager for Foley’s

for 11 years. She is currently

employed in the telecom indus-

try. She loves football, especially

her Packers and Badgers. She

volunteers for the USO, support-

ing our troops and their families.

She helps send-off our Veterans

on the DFW Honor Flights to

DC. She loves anything patriotic!

In 2010, Dallas County-wide:

1. There were 36 Republican candidates in contested

races (District Attorney, County Judge, District Clerk,

County Clerk, County Treasurer & 31 judges).

2. In part because 20,317 MORE Democrats voted

Straight Ticket than Republicans, and

3. Again, lots of Republican voters left down-ballot races

blank, and

4. A lot more Democrats were newly registered voters

Why Voting the Entire Ballot is

SO Important In 2006, Dallas County-wide:

1. There were 47 Republican candidates in contested races

(District Attorney, County Judge, District Clerk, Coun-

ty Clerk, County Treasurer & 42 judges)

2. In part because 16,136 MORE Democrats voted

Straight Ticket than Republicans, and

3. Because Republican voters have a greater tendency to

vote for who they know near the top of the ballot and

leave the rest of the races blank, and

4. Because approximately 38,000 Dallas County Republi-

can voters DID NOT VOTE --

5. However, if everyone who voted for Republican U.S.

Senate candidate Kay Bailey Hutchison near the top of

the ballot had voted for Republicans to the bottom of

the ballot, ALL 47 REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES

WOULD HAVE WON! And with just two exceptions,

they all would have won by more than 10,000 votes!!!

LEAVING RACES BLANK DOWN THE BALLOT WILL

ENSURE DEMOCRAT MAJORITIES AT THE COUNTY,

STATE AND FEDERAL LEVELS!!!

We need Republican majorities at all levels of government,

in part because local and state elected officials have tre-

Americanism “Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president or any other public official, save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country. It is patriotic to support him insofar as he efficiently serves the country. It is unpatriotic not to oppose him to the exact extent that by inefficiency or otherwise he fails in his duty to stand by the country. In either event, it is unpatriotic not to tell the truth, whether about the president or anyone else.”

of fallen military heroes and will be held in Fort Worth from December 11-15, 2014.
