The Crossword Centennial 100 Years of Black and White Squares  The first published crossword puzzle ecember 21, 2013, is the 100th anniversary of the crossword puzzle and it's also the day that David Steinberg , crossword editor of The Orange County Register 's associated newspapers and the second-  youngest con structor to be publish ed in The New York Times  under  Will Shor tz's editorship , will be coming to the Palos V erdes P eninsula Center library to talk about crosswords! After hearing a brief history of the crossword puzzle, you'll learn about the Pre-Shortzian Puzzle Project, find out how a crossword puzzle is constructed and edited, hear strategies for solving even the most challenging of puzzles, and have an opportunity to ask all your crossword-relat ed questions! This program is designed for solvers, constructors, and would-be constructors of all ages anyone with an interest in the wonderful world of crosswords!
