Mount Olympus for mountain lovers. Mount Olympus is the highest point in Greece (2917m), and the home to the Ancient Greek Gods. It is here that Zeus and his fellows decided the fate of the mortals while feasting and being entertained with the chanting of the muses. Rich in mythical past, Mount Olympus is also one of the richest regions in rare fauna and flora in Europe. It is a protected National Park, and has been included in the NATURA 2000 network and the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. A divine place that no mortal had rested their gaze upon until 1913, when the first known ascent was completed. Four days in the mountains. Suggested Programme for Individuals and Groups Religion Mont Athos the Holy Mountain The mountainous peninsula of Mount Athos, which is a self-administered and independent area of 360 km2, houses 20 Orthodox monasteries which history goes back to the Middle Ages and which are linked by the requirements of the Byzantine ancestral rites. Visiting this magnificent peninsula surrounded by the blue of the Aegean Sea, is taking on a journey out of this world and out of this time. You will share the life of the Orthodox monks that follow the rhythm and the rituals related to the first centuries of Christianity. Programme 1 :

Each year, during the summer solstice, on the slopes of Mount Olympus, takes place Prometheia the festival that celebrates the thief Prometheus.
