The Craylands School Newsletter Upcoming Events Dear Parents/Carers, I am amazed at how quickly that term has flown by….we are well and truly into this academic year. This week, I spent some time in EYFS and I must say that I am so pleased to see how they have settled into school life. There were lots of busy children playing and learning in a range of areas; there were children washing bikes and the wooden hut, children who were threading beads, children making mud soup in the mud kitchen, however the main draw of the morning were the squishy beads in the water. Lots of happy and engaged children! A big thank you to the EYFS team for helping them to settle into school so well. I would like to introduce our newest staff member to you all. Mrs Rundle will be replacing Mrs Cobby in the school office as our Admin Officer between Tuesdays and Thursdays. Id like to warmly welcome her to the Craylands team and hope that you will do too. A big thank you to Mrs Cobby (who will work her final few days after half term) for her work in the office whilst she has been with us. Another new staff member joining us after half term is Mrs Nash. Working on a Monday and Tuesday, Mrs Nash will be teaching in Stickman class, with Miss Marlton reducing her days to Wednesday to Friday. I must clarify that Miss Marlton is fit and well so please do not worry about her. Mrs Nash was able to come in and meet the children in Stickman yesterday. I am sure you will join me in welcoming her into our school community. It has been great to see so many of you at our parental engagement events. The reading mornings have been busy on all mornings and I am sure that your children have appreciated spending the time reading with you. Fewer parents and carers attended the after school clubs this week than we anticipated so we may have to reconsider whether we will run these again. A big well done to Funnybones class who were the first to lead a class assembly this year; they were shy and nervous but were brave enough to tell us about what they have been learning this term. Many thanks to the parents/carers who came to support. I must thank you all for the amazing generosity you have shown this week for our harvest festival. The amount of food parcels and the way in which many of them were decorated in an autumnal theme was more than we could have expected. I am sure that these donations will support less fortunate families as we approach colder and darker nights. Thank you once again. I have seen many home learning projects being brought into school over the past week. I have not yet managed to get around to seeing them all in class but I will endeavour to take a closer look upon our return in term 2. A big well done to all those children who have shown they are Craylearners by extending their learning at home. A big well done to all those children who have remained green all term; they should have received a certificate in assembly today. Keep this up for next term; we will review the roarassemblies as part of our anti bullying/behaviour work- shop in November. Wishing you all a lovely half term break.
